Dyson Sphere in the Current engine

So picture a hollow ball, at the center is a magical sun that becomes the moon at night. You are on landscapes on the inside of the sphere. It curves around and you can see other landscapes and castles and a village on the opposite side of the sphere.

Could I make this world with the current engine?

I would probably make some impassable mountainscapes to help loop the world around and eliminate flying animals/enemies. You probably couldn't fly all the way over to the other side.....although a magic cannon teleporter would be cool to look at.

The only way i could see that working would be to make the rest of the world out of the skybox. I dont think you can have the skybox slowly rotate as you move to give the illusion of the world being on the interior of a sphere and the normal day/night cycle wouldn't really work the same since you need the same view of the other side of the world so rotating automatically would be an issue. And I can see making the sun go from a sun to a moon wont be easy to do but possible. As far as making the world itself round would be impossible because of gravity. It goes one way and only that one way.

Nice thing about your idea is there would be none of that shadow flickering every few seconds.

I can see this being possible if you made it huge. for example it would need to be so big that walking from either end is impossible. Think Halo. When you are on the ring and you look off in the distance and you can see the ring and its curvature but you can't walk there for obvious reasons. One being natural game constraints the devs put on, because lets face it. Halo is not a freeroamer. And second if you were to do this in skyrim as jet says, the world you see in the distance would have to be a modified version of the skybox for the specific cell. Basically in skyrim you can walk to either end of the map, but there are invisible walls put in place to restrict your access of parts of the game you aren't intended to go into. You would need to do that. So that in essence, the skybox is simply an illusion of a dyson sphere. from there you could place portals to take you to new cells which would "extend the illusion" sort of speak.

So yes, I think it is very possible, but difficult.

And to be more clear, you would make the explorable cell huge so that you can explain the apparent flatness of an otherwise round world. The Earth is round, but its so large we don't notice it's curvature while we simply stand on it.

So lets say we had a circle divided into fourths....I would have to make a skybox for each fourth to correspond to the opposite fourth. In terms of a sphere (divided into 8 sectors) I would have to make a skybox for each opposite sector....

I would also have to use the trick from episode 66 of Bleach to exaggerate the slope of the cells to make it seem round....

Wow, this is really hard to think about without going off on some tangent of an awesome idea.

My main idea is that you find a battlemage hiring for an excursion into this world and join the expedition. The sphere has an artificial sun at the center,

ooh! what if it was like that one episode of Jumanji and you could explore it? Can you make a platform in an infinite void?

that, as was said earlier becomes a moon at night.

I have a rough story in my head but would enjoy seeing it done with the sphere instead of a floating castle in space...which would still be awesome but not appropriate for this story.
