Realistic skyrim (remove magic and more).

Greetings modders,

For years I've played games like Oblivion, Skyrim, WoW, Guild Wars and more.

And in all the games, i never really feel completely immersed.

One game i did feel immersed in was Mount & Blade, Good combat, no magic and where it doesn't take 10 arrows to kill a bandit.

Some of the things i miss in skyrim is realistic weapon damage, an arrow to the head should kill, both my enemies, but also my self!. a strike from a sword should hurt a lot!, but heavy armor should be somewhat protecting.

What i want is weapons that do a lot more damage, 1-2 arrows kills. But armor makes a difference.

I want a hardcore mode where both me and my enemies are deadly.

A world without magic or enchants, with no mana or potions, where i have to eat to be alive, and where i cant swallow 50 onions when i am about to die!.

A list of things i propose.

-Very high weapon damage

-Very high armor migration (so a heavy armor blocks more, and makes a real difference)

-Eat / Sleep to stay alive

-Remove all magic and enchants

-Limit stealth to maybe 50, so you can still sneak around in the shadows, but you can't run around an enemy without him spotting you.

-No auto aim on bows

-No bonus damage for sneak (the higher damage will make up for it, and it shouldn't matter if i sit or crouch when i shoot an arrow).

-undead / vampires / werewolf and such will be replaced by animals and bandits.

-Stamina continue to drop and will get refilled by eating and sleeping / resting.

-you will drop to sleep, if you don't sleep for 60 or so hours.

-Bandits / guards roam the woods, looking for enemies.

-No fast travel

I approve of some of these, though I think it would be greatly taking away from the world by removing magic and supernatural creatures.

The rest I would approve of, though. After I'm done with my Medieval Cyrodiil mod for Oblivion, I might take a look and see what I can do with Skyrim.

I just feel it would be awesome to have a more realistic world, one that is more like earth was back then. Skyrim has a lot to offer, which games like M&B doesn't, and i really hope it will come some day.

Many of these things are doable:

-Damage: fdamageweaponmult governs weapon damage. Raise it to 2.0 to double weapon damage.

-Alternatively, change the setting governing damage output for Master Difficulty. Make it so player and NPC is even, and this will globally double damage

-Mages: remove from leveled lists and replace with Bandits. Did this for bandits in my game. Bandit mages were too numerous. Wrecked immersion. Doing the same for other random mages would take some time, but would not be too complicated otherwise. And if no magic-using enemies roam the world, you avoid the need for a big magic overhaul/elimination mod. If no one uses it, you don't need to change/remove it.

-Creatures: This is where it gets tough. You could yank the Draugr off spawn lists in tombs. Replace with rats, the occasionaly wolf or some such. Bandits too in some places. Same for Vampires and Werewolves. Trolls, too. But Bethesda uses special spawns near Word Walls in the outdoors if Dragons are not yet active, and some of these are hagravens and trolls, too, so you would want to get those.

all in all this is not a bad idea. I sympathize with just wanting an RPG focused on realism without the magic fireballs all over the place. Would be a nice change. Difficult but not impossible in Skyrim. Easier if you avoid tomb raiding as a past time, which I suspect you would avoid in the realistic world you want anyway.

Yes YES YES! Currently playing through the game as an Robin Hood (Crowe version) inspired Archer, on Master Difficulty, using only a Longbow, mage hood and clothes. Didnt start the Main Quest (so no dragons right?) but my immersion gets totally ruined when i run into Magic Users. I'd really love to see a way to remove Magic\Magic Users from the game.

I can't see why you'd want to remove magic.. It is a fantasy game/world. Everything else I kinda like. There are probably separate mods to accomplish most. I do like the idea of a headshot mod. I can understand the armor helping but sense almost no enemy NPCs have closed faced helmets It should be a 1 shot kill.

removing magic would be kinda odd... especially if theirs a quest where someone uses magic XD. I guess you could remove all those quests and maybe make the colleges into castles with knights? Idk but A LOT of work for getting RID of a lot of content. Doesn't seem worth it to me, only if you REALLY want to Role Play?
