Eliah
I'm hoping someone who does this sort of modding will see my thread. Basically: I have no prior experience with 3D modelling. Go figure. But I'm willing to learn and work at it. And yes, I have looked for information on this sort of thing. Why else would I be asking this on a forum unless I was desperate? Here's a question: What program do you use? Is there any way to export/import/convert the meshes and textures through any other programs/plugs that BS provides? How can I get these programs and such? (Links would be great) Of course, this excludes Photoshop and 3DS Max, since I don't have the money to buy, or the dial up to even try demos or whatever. I think I've come across a couple hundred tutourial sites, so I shouldn't have a problem finding what I need there. Thanks to any who reply with helpful info. Anyone else is considered to be BSing. Peregrine
1) Search this forum, you'll find the full explanations I don't feel like retyping. 2) The simple answer: no 3dsmax, no Morrowind export. The export plugin is 3dsmax only. 3) The longer answer: if you've got a free program, you might be able to save to a format one of us with 3dsmax can import, and do the final conversion/export. 4) Textures are much easier. Any program that can save in .tga format can make them, but obviously the more expensive programs will get better results. And if you're retexturing existing models, you'll need to get and learn the replacer program someone's made.
PierreBeauregard
There are two shareware programs that I know of that support a number of 3-D model types:AC3D and Milkshape I believe AC3D is a 2-week trial which afterwards costs $50. Milkshape has a one-month trial, and its activation is $20. AC3D is considered more "professional", but there are a number of neat features that I prefer on milkshape, and they give you access to most of the full-version features, whereas in AC3D you're somewhat limited in file types.
