ShotgunSmiles88
I have a few questions. Here's some context/backstory just in case. Otherwise you can skip all the way to the first Questiuon if you're just here to help or get help. Thanks. I find it best to bring my questions to forums rather than search bars and how to videos, that way I can better sift through the contradictory information/answers and get to the bottom of things without having to take a YouTube vids word for it. Ive had my custom built PC for almost a month now and i've only played a few hours of Divinity Original Sin 2 as I stil have a PS4 (and 8 games iv yet to even touch and this PC is mainly for big open RPGs, FPS games, and creating a graphic novel I'm working on). Im still in the process of learning how to mod on a PC as i used to own Skyrim and Fallout 4 on my Xbox One where i learned how to properly (manually) order my mods in the Load Order. Recently i just learned what the hell Program Files x86 was compared to Program Files (32 bit and 64 bbit apps). Hardware specs: i7 Intel Quadcore, 16 GiGz of RAM (Random Access Memory?) Asus motherboard, Nvidia 1080ti, Liquid cooling, Sandisk (Fry's was out of Samsung) 1TB Solid State Drive, a generic 3TB Hardrive (WD brand) and I'm waiting/saving to get me a nice frosty G-Sync 4k HDR Monitor/Gaming TV I had Skyrim SE installed thru steam and also had NMM, LOOT, 7zip, and FNIS Generator plus 15 or so mods to test out. Created a 'Games' folder to keep Skyrim (other games I plan to mod and NMM) I startyed doing things based on multiple How to docs and vids trying to get SKSE64 into my Load order and adding some mods to test (including SkyUI) I found that SKSE64 wasnt properly installed (or something was wrong) as i was prompted with a SkyUI warnning the last time i tried to launch Skyrim. Long story short i ended up uninstalling every mod, as well as NMM, LOOT, FNIS generator, 7zip, and everything except for Steam and Divinity II. QUESTIONS and MATTERS Question 1: Best way tto make sure that im removing everything and anything from my SSD when uninstalling? I want my games and launchers and mods on the C drive because its a SSD and I got an SSD for improved performance (Whats a good way to manage space and utilize my other painfully below average Dard Drive to maximize my storage capabilities and/or use for backing up Load orders and other data. Question 2: Best place to install NMM (C drive: program files? Games folder?) and other mod related programs, games, and apps.) Best place to install anything. A place for Games, LOOT, different applications -My C drive IS my SSD but I also have a D drive which is a 3TB WD Hardrive. (SSD are so good in case you're wondering.. so far. Pricey but I saved for 17 months before finally splurging my disposable income on this rig) Question 3: A: Link for a good source for learning various computer terminology and misc aspects that way I can know the basics at the foundation of this new learning experience and as long as I have the blue print I can figure it out as I go along, and do so much quicker than having to search for most recent how to vids and watch atleast 3 of them to make sure the information isn't contradictory. For Example - in computer terminology/semantics what is a Function, an Operation, a task, the difference. Whats the difference between Having something installed onto my C drive as opposed to my D drive (other than the C drive being my Solid State drive and therfor much faster).-B: What are some things I should definetaly avoid clicking on or deleting? Is deleting something to, and then permanently form the Recycling bin going get rid of it?-C: Basically I could use some tips on refining my own process for when it comes to installing apps such as games or other programs (is an App and a Program technically the same thing?) QUESTION 4: I was getting screen tearing every time I moved in the last session I played Skyrim on and don't know why that would happen. Its a UHD 4k montor I got for 200 bucks to keep until I can afford and HDR monitor and atleast 32 inches of screen (as I will use a gamepad for pretty much all single player games) QUESTION 5: Gamepad preferences - Dual Shock 4 versus Xbox One controller? In Skyrim while using the dual shock and configuring the controls, each function was being labelled as if I was using an Xbox Controller. Instead of X square circle and triangle I would have B(circle) Y(triangle) X(square) and A(x). Also are there ways to utilize both a gamepad and keyboard at the same time? Viable? LIke if I wanted to use the controller for mostly everything except for maybe using the 1-0 keys on the keyboard for quick hotkey (such as item selection instaed of a console based radial menu or quick menu.. if that made any sense) I'm gonna stop myself because I have quite a few questions and I don't want this to be hard to respond to as I start going into and asking about several different things. Maybe some things to know from the beginning as a newbie could be useful. What are some things I should know so I can TEACH Myself the rest. I spent 2500 hard earned dollars on this PC (yeah I realize I could of probably got something similar for much less in some way shape or form but that's why I saved for nearly two years and picked out my hardware then had Fry's put it all together. I wrote this really fast cuz I wanted to get it posted before I passed out so I could make progress when I get off work Thursday morning. Apologieze if its ill-formatted and for typhos, etc. Have swell fudwukin day! :) -(look how adorable my 90's era emogie is) Why I bought a PC and what I'm intending to use it for (iN case anybody has some advice)(you can ignore this if you're just here for the questions I specified above) âADVICE is mucho Appreciated. Or links to good sources of advice and info. I mainly want to get all I can out of Bethesda's average games (that can be turned into some of the best games ever made with the right mods) and play a few PC exclusives (and timed exclusives ) and also enjoy 60 FPS at higher settings (I love my PS4 pro but in time ill learn to love my PC more once I've gotten over this initial stage of learning how to be a responsible and intelligent PC user/gamer/content creator) I want to be able to take screenshots from any angle on any game utilizing whatever programs I need to utilize and take advantage of Quality of Life mods for games that don't really need to be completely overhauled like Skyrim and Fallout. Games like Witcher 3 could use one or two 'Immersive" HUD mods as well as some ways to fix the combat so Geralt doesn't spin so damn much. Also being able to use console commands, mods, or installed programs to access a free roam camera in any game I play to then take epic, cinematic, artistic, and badass screenshots and then apply my own effects. BBeen wanting to do a Skyrim, Fallout, SOuls, or Witcher 3 "graphic novel machinima" using screenshots that are then formatted into panels and then I can take MY playthru's and turn them into edited stories for fun, to share, and to practice storytelling (its good to write but its also good to tell stories across as many mediums as you can think of or create so you/me the writer doesn't get burnt doing the same routines everyday while also summoning my own inspiration through gaming and content creation instead oi just hoping to be inspired or vaping until my brain bubbles over. âIll post more detailed and some more specific questions in another topic when I get my weekend after I get off work Friday morning.
