Hey guys, anyone know if there are any tutorials ou there which teach you how to create armor and stuff ?? Im talking about torso armor, bracers, gauntlets, shoes .... you know things the player can actually wear not like swords or shields...

Preferably i'd like to model on c4d but 3ds max is acceptable too :)

Thnks :)

It will probably help if you state what game you wish to mod for, but the initial steps are more or less the same no matter what:

This tutorial is great if you are just starting out with 3ds max:

http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/joanmenu.asp

though it section about skinning might be a bit old, and not as relevant when you have a finished skeleton to use and can use quick, "dirty" rigging. There are other tutorials for this though, like http://rumor.ru/wiki/CG:Quick_and_dirty_rigging_in_3dsmax ).

After you have rigged and textured it though, the ways to actually get it in-game differs greatly from game to game. And unless you plan to mod for DA:O, I will probably not be able to give you any advice after that.

If you plan to mod for dragon age, you should download "eshme's tools", they are just to import and export your resources between 3ds max and files that are readable by the toolset.

http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=895

Also, you might want to look on a previous post by me where I gave a quick rigging tutorial for DA:

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/423834-the-witcher-1-armors-in-da-origins/page__view__findpost__p__3544131

This video also shows how to get the exported items from 3ds max to the toolset, and into your game:
