Does this still happen if you start a new game? If a new game is fine then it is just your save that is corrupted. Kiss it goodbye, try not to uninstall mods mid playthrough. If it does happen in a new game then your game install is corrupted. Delete it. Get a new one from steam.

I'm pretty sure this can be fixed via console. Similar happened to me after using Player Headtracking with another 1st person mod. Let me delve into the archives.

If you're using Player Headtracking, uninstall it. Either way, re-load your game and enter the command:

Player.SetAnimGraphVar IsNPC 0

Then re-install Player Headtracking if you still want to use it.

That should hopefully fix the issue(?)

I'm not new here, but haven't tried to use mods in Skyrim for years. I'm running vanilla skyrim, with no DLC's, so I tried to stay away from any mods that used content from those addons. Yet, when I downloaded about 12 mods, none of which stated they required any DLC's, exactly three did not crash my game. Loading any of the rest crashed me to desktop during startup.

And one of them I remember loading many years ago, with no problems (glowing ore).

I used the Nexus downloader (pleas put some progress bars in that, by the way) so maybe that's the problem.

Disappointing.
