ProjectVRD
Skyrim keeps freezing up, and on rare occassions CTD's, I am using the latest Beta version and when I Ctrl+Alt+Del to Task Manager the memory usage for the game is nearly always 1,900,000KB's give or take + 90MB. Essentially the game seems to crash when it using 1.9GB and is probably trying to access over 2GB. As far as I am aware this problem was supposed to have been fixed a long time ago right? Didn't Bethesda fix this 1990's problem out with a far earlier patch and is there anyone else still getting freezes/CTD's when Task Manager shows the same memory usage? wader2k
I don't know, but I have seen another thread recently that seems to suggest the LAA flag has been dropped again at some point. There must be a way to tell for sure.

A few seconds freezes every 20 seconds or so.....just like when the game was released last year. This really breaks the immersion. This problem was fixed months ago but now it seems it is back with a vengeance. ; (
brickuuu
Hi, I have the same issue, a micro freeze happening every 20 secs ... freaking annoying ... I am glad I have found this post , I spent my all day to figure out what was wrong with recently installed mods ... (never had those freezes before, seems to be 1.5 related) Any ideas on how to fix this ? Or we might need to wait for another patch ? I have an ATI HD 5870 card by the way. ProjectVRD
It's as if the game needs more than 2GB, can't go above it because the LAA flag either isn't working or has been removed, and waits until the cell data has been purged so it can start loading more cells again. Bethesda really need to get a 64-bit patch out there asap because by simply adding a flag to a 32-bit execution you are asking for problems further down the line. I didn't think game devs released 32-bit only games anymore, Crysis, DiRT, upcoming X-COM etc ect etc... they all have the 64-bit executable from Day 1. I can't think why Bethesda didn't make one. ProjectVRD
I did a clean install of the game, and only left out one mod. Static Mesh Improvement. My game is stable. Static Mesh was causing the issue when I did test installs after rebuilding my game.
brickuuu
I have load an older save, and the problem seems to be gone (yet the most recent one crash after 20 sec of playing) ... Recently the periodic freezing have been CTD every time. Tell me if you still having this bug with an older save, or maybe try with a new character

brickuuu
I had this freezing bug without using HD texture pack (And I don't use Static Mesh Improvement mod either) . And Even on the lowest setting possible I had those. I have tested with my older save, And it is stable for now, except that now I am experiencing CTDs on loading screen :D ... But it seems mods related this time. Thx for the link, I will take a look and post feedback. Edited April 11, 2012 by brickuuu
