where to download game itself

I am downloading the game from Steam and i am curious to where i should put the files of the game. Not awhile back , i downloaded fallout 3 from gamestop's PC downloader , and ended up putting it somewhere where my nexus was incompatible with the game files.So now i am downloading New vegas via steam and am wondering

 

where the hell do i put the game files so i wont have problems with my Mod Manager :wallbash:

steam puts its games well under the steam directory

 

so guess it goes there

 

of course if that isn't a good place

You just need to config the FOMM or NMM to point to the correct game EXE. For steam games, it's Steam / steamapps / common / Fallout new vegas or something to that effect.
