jcdenton2012 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 God... the simplest things. How does one change say... the Gunners decal into something else... like say... a custom made Talon Company decal?
jcdenton2012 Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 I was looking for a more step by step explanation. Namely, I need to know if I have to alter the material file: bgsm, and when altering the diffuse, normal, and smooth spec; do I need to list the pathway from Data to the new dds.. My intuition says yes to both, but I don't freaking know.
1Laurentiu Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) I am not very sure how it works in the creation kit for Fallout 4 but what I used to do in the Fallout New Vegas GECK was take the .dds texture I wanted to edit and open it in photoshop which will require the Nvidia dds plugin, save it and then put it back ingame using the GECK. Make you sure you put it in the apropriate folders before adding it back in the game. To add it in the creation kit, click on Miscellaneous/TextureSet and then pick one from the list, give it a new ID and point it to the new texture you just made. This is a video demonstration for a t51-b template I made for FNV way baack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEsGbuqULiE Many things are probably wrong but its a start I guess. If its just a decal I don't think it has normal maps or if it does you probably won't need to edit. But you can make new normals based on the texture. They are not pretty but it works...
