hotfile lore-unfriendly armor again?

Well, so I click open skyrimnexus and check for hotfile, Jesus, all armors mod? and mostly are lore-unfriendly, what the hell? I'm not saying they are no good, but I'm getting pissed and tired of seeing these lore-unfriendly stuff keep showing on hotfile all the time while other far more lore-friendly mods get forgotten.I don't think this is a good trend,if thing keeps running like this, I'm shudder to think what will become of this community.

People have been ranting on about this sort of stuff for years, and nothing will change. Modders make and upload what they want to, provided it's within the rules. If they don't want to make something lore-friendly, that's their choice. Players will download what they like, and may choose to endorse it should they really like it, which causes it to end up on the Hot Files section. This is the whole point of modding, to be able to create whatever you so desire.

If you're so unhappy about it, use tags when you search, start learning how to make lore-friendly mods yourself or post a request and hope someone chooses to work on it for you.

Well, I guess I'm just getting over-heated today, seeing all hotfiles filled with Armor mods.Think there are not many awesome new mods out there except lore-unfriendly armors ,even if there are ,and btw, I know how to make mods myself, thank you. Edited by vineyard

I feel your pain, I don't mind that the armor is there, and sometimes I myself enjoy it. But it comes to a point where I just want to block all those types of mods from reaching my own personnal top files and just see the mods with real substance. The gamechangers and environmental mods that make the entire game better overall. Sure those armor things are nice, but most of the time I don't want them, and wish to tune them out.

The nexus God's have been talking about making this an option for a while but there is no stated time for when it will be done, or even if they are working on it yet. Hopefully they are though, because it would be great for both groups; people who want to see them, and those who don't.

The people who want to see them, can and will enjoy them. The people who don't will feel less inclined to troll them. Lets face it if you see a type of mod all the time that you don't like and have no interest in, sometimes you get annoyed and want to give the innocent authors a piece of your mind. IF they implemented something like this it could eliminate a lot of trolling and such.

It would be such a great addition to the nexus.

Don't download it. Simple. Set your search to most popular armour and skirt through from the top.

Diversity is a good thing. I'm 100% behind only using lore friendly stuff and I won't play a character that stands out too much and doesn't look real but I'm not everyone.

I find the "Hot files" listing to have a misleading name, since almost all of it is skimpy armor/sex mods/body replacers and the like - which is all well and good if you don't care for immersion or actual game play and only open the game to stare at your female pixels. This is why I spend most of my time on Nexus digging through all the files that no one seems to notice. That's where some of the best stuff is.

While I may not stick to 100% lore friendly equipment/weapons/junk, I do like to keep a certain air of Skyrim within...Skyrim...

You are completely missing the point.

Some of us don't want these mods at all, some of us have zero interest in them, because some of us bought skyrim with the intent to play skyrim, not play with barbies.

But harsh words aside, diversity is a good thing, but you say that I can simply set my search to the lore friendly stuff, and you are right. But I cannot change what I see on my Hot files. And if they simply made a change to the system so I could set my own preferences then I wouldn't have to see them. You see there are always Hot files. If I could block the armor mods, then what would fill its place would simply be mods to my liking which are also seeing high traffic and downloads. Simple.

So yes diversity is a good thing, there is a very diverse selection of immersive mods and skimpy armor mods. If I want to choose to not see a certain type I should simply be able to set my own preferences for it.

I couldn't agree more with you. I know I can just "not download it", but the point is I don't even want to see it. Contrary to what a lot of people want to think, those of us who don't want to see this aren't trying to preach to or push our ideals onto everyone else. I frankly don't care what anyone downloads from here, have fun, that's the point. Just like it's already been said, diversity is great. Absolutely.

That said, we come here for mods we enjoy. Everyone of us. It's the same concept as going to a store except it's free. If you go to a store to buy your favorite products, only to find the store is absolutely drowning you in advertisements for everything else and what you came for is hidden away because of said advertisements and an overstock of the other products, you're going to go somewhere else, aren't you? Well, we have no choice in this case. Sure, there are other modding communities, but they're very small and some are even shady. Now, you may say we have no right to ask for anything because the Nexus is free, but that's just wrong. It's not like we're demanding it violently or something, we're just asking for a change in a civil way. And it's not a change to suit just us, it's a change to suit everyone even better.

I want everyone to be able to enjoy the Nexus, no matter what you prefer to download. Not to be offensive in anyway, but those who do enjoy the current mods up as hotfiles may not immediately think about the fact some of us are honestly kinda frustrated at this point. I know if nothing but lore friendly mods were up for like 2 months, I'd be in heaven and I probably wouldn't think of the fact that other users are extremely bored with what is currently hot. It's just human nature unfortunately. But once you think about it a bit, you can see both sides of the argument.

Those of us who don't want skimpy mods and so on aren't upset those mods exist, we just don't want to see them ourselves. Searching using tags only helps so much, and "blocked" tags don't work at all for me. I'm sure someone will still disagree entirely, call me a whiner, and childishly question my sexuality with the popular "So you don't like girls?", but I'm not insulting you in anyway and neither is anyone else. Maybe there are some who do, but forget them, you'll always have some. We might be the minority but our point is valid none the less. In the end, what we want helps everyone anyway.

Agreed with the others, there needs to be better filtering and tagging for files. It may seem silly but I honestly almost feel like giving up using mods when I visit the homepage, it's an instant reminder I will have to sift through loads of stuff that is completely uninteresting to me. If there was a way to never ever see another Anime or skimpy brightly colored armorkini thing when browsing the nexus I would be a very happy person.
