Question about iCloud

Recommended Posts

I am using a computer from someone else in the household since my PC (a desktop) has what appears to be a dead PSU. Their computer is a MacBook Air. The desktop PC has a high speed modem connected to the wall connected to it, and then the modem transmits to the MacBook Air to give it internet access.

So I noticed something peculiar. On this laptop, when I go to search things on google, it'll show sites that have been visited (purple text instead of blue). However, it is sites visited on the desktop and never visited by the laptop. Further more, searches I've done on google on the desktop are found in the search bar history when going to google on the laptop. This Apple laptop has something called iCloud, a digital, wireless 'Cloud' application. Is this the culprit? Can I disable its spying on my desktop? That'd be great. If the culprit isn't iCloud, what could it be?

Are you logging into a google account before you search because Google itself tracks your internet history. iCloud is a service for iTunes that holds onto your iTunes purchases(it can store music from CDs but for a price, iTunes purchases are stored for free) and syncs them to your iOS devices.

As for google, go to google.com/history, log in if you haven't signed in already and follow the guide to pause them tracking your internet history and remove whatever history they have on you.

Edit: Make sure you do this with all google accounts that use different email accounts. I have a youtube account that use my yahoo email account rather than my gmail email account.
