Beauty Mod Help!

I have been trying to make my character look pretty and so downloaded mods, and of course the mods texture shown in pictures look absolutely nothing like what came out, which looks almost completely vanilla + botched plastic surgery and I'm at my wits end because I have a perfectly good modded Oldrim with a lovely looking character and presets. I lost my NMM data from when I modded that so have no clue what texture and mesh mods I used.

Anyways I was wondering if people could help me by giving me a pic and a list of mods to get that look so I could have a decent character or pointing me to a mod that has a list of mods that they used for screenshots or something.

Attached pic of what is currently being made in creation using various mods, which of course do not come out anything like the mods show.

Yeah I tried to download mods with preset replacers and their instructions on how to get them to look "just like screenshot" and the presets are still vanilla, I can tell because the warpaints aren't the same and on top of that still, the textures and everything look completely vanilla. Like it seems that no matter what the hell I throw at my game it's refusing to use anything that looks nonvanilla for characters. I might just have to give up on SSE and play my oldrim because at least my oldrim has working character assets that don't look vanilla.

Your problem seems like it's a face mesh/texture that didn't get bodyslide/FNIS'd or added. Throw in Pretty Faces to your problem and rerun bodyslide/fnis it may just work.

Ok so none of them listed bodyslide as a depency/said that I would have to use it for it to work. How would I go about using bodyslide for this purpose? it looks a fair bit more complicated than fnis since all i have to do for fnis is press 1 button and wait. I don't want to severely screw something up so I'm hesitant on diving into a tool I am unfamiliar with. Thanks again guys for trying to help me with this btw.

I may be jumping to conclusions here, but have you heard of our lord and Savior, MO2?

if you haven't you should seriously consider using it to manage your mods, then running bodyslide wouldn't be such a scare.

and here's a dirty little copy pasta from my self I recently typed:.. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6427476-easier-way-to-uninstall-manually-installed-content/

If you are considering upon switching over, it doesn't mean NMM will be over, it will still have its uses.

Here's how, assuming you haven't done anything, go into your NMM folders and locate the category and profile folder/files and delete them; those categories will do you more to confuse you more than anything. Fire up NMM let it do its things, when prompted to associate categories click no, again don't use the category. Afterwards, left click the Unassigned category and click new category and title it "Installed via NMM" category will manage where things that aren't capable of being installed through MO2 vfx, such as TK Dodge, goes.

Use your NMM as the main download manager / file bank, and your MO2 as your game manager. Port only the files you will be actively using to MO2 and remove those that you don't from it. When used properly, becomes an especially powerful and equally beneficial to you because you will no longer be forced to store all your files, both file bank (aka the originals) and vfx (the virtual copies) in the same drive, effectively doubling your storage capabilities. It also has the secondary effect of improving your overall file integrity if you should mistakenly f' up along the ways with SSEDIT/the like and mistakenly (quite easily might I add) wipe out your file bank's files. (And should that happen, MO2 will still show your install folders regardless of whether the files are inside them, so you simply have to rightclick and reinstall, no huss, no fuss, whereas if you were just MO2, you'd be pretty much be s*** out of luck).

I personally been using this method. I store all my mods into my external backup SSD where Nexus mods is located, and port the mods I use to MO2 which is stored on my internal SSD.

Does Mod Organizer's Bodyslide interface look any different from when it is in NMM? I'm fine with switching over as I've used both for oldrim before when NMM was being a tool. However the thing that confuses me is what I'm supposed to do with bodyslide to make textures work. Like when I open it up currently on NMM it has 2 blank drop downs and 2 filter search boxes, batch and regular build buttons and then settings and outfit studio buttons. As I'm not doing anything with outfits and the only button that currently leads somewhere is settings, I'm assuming that's what I wanna click but then I have 0 clue what to do from there, honestly clueless about it. Is there a video I can watch somewhere that gives a good explanation on how to use bodyslide in this capacity?

BTW it's 3am here and I'm tired so I'm heading off to bed, so I won't see any responses til I get up again. Again thanks for helping me out with this.
