Cutscene at start of Hushed Whispers glicthing out

i was surprised to not find a specific page about this anywhere, but in the cutscene where i start Hushed Whispers and i talk to Alexius, the characters in my party glitch when walking up to him and start to t-pose. It kinda gets stuck there for a while, but after some time it continues the rest of the scene.

However, as it continues the characters' animations are off- often snapping around the set, not lip syncing, and their meshes get all messed up.

then after going through that, the new area loads but its all....not right.

i need to know basically-- is this an issue with ALL mods in this quest? can i just not play through Hushed Whispers with mods? i mostly have hair, armor, and texture mods installed.

for the moment i will continue the game without mods, hopin that will work, but i would like some insight so i know if i replay it again.

I play with several mods. Never had the behaviour you're reporting.

I've never seen anyone else mention an issue with mods in that quest, but it was a major breaking point right after the game came out. Before it was fixed in the first patch I had to switch the game to the lowest graphics settings in the smallest window available to prevent the game from soft locking at the start of that cutscene every single time.

 

If you're able to get through that cutscene successfully without mods installed it's possible your computer is just right on the edge of being able to handle the game with your current setup and it wasn't quite able to load everything properly with mods in the mix. You should be fine to continue to play with mods (though you might want to go vanilla again for the transition to Skyhold which is a common point to have issues though I can't say I've experienced that myself). You might want to have a look over your graphics settings though.

Hi I have the exact same issue, did you solve it? I am about to "repair" my game through origin and see if that fixes it by going vanilla. if so will come back, otherwise any help would be great!
