Smithing, 94 to 100 power leveling help

Hello! I want to boost Smithing from 94 to 100 so i can craft dragon scale and dragon weapons. I was reading online that I should craft gold rings, 2 per. So I grabbed the Warrior Guardian Stone blessing, went to Kolskeggr Mine, wiped out the Forsworn, mined it all out (52 ore), went to Whiterun, converted all the ore to ingot and made all the gold rings I could and that barely moved the skill progress bar. So more reading online and somewhere else said to make dwarven bows. So I go to Mzulft, go over to the treasury room, clean it out, return to Whiterun, convert the scrap to ingots and make all the bows I could (close to 20) and again my progress bar barely moved. So, for giggles, I hard saved, cheated in 100 gold ingots, made all the gold rings I could, and, yeah, the progress bare moved very little. So how do I boost Smithing up to 100 a lot quicker than a pixel or 5 of progress for insane unrealistic levels of gold ingots?

The more expensive an item created, the more exp you get from it.

That said, in all this effort, if you had used a mining mod which provides smithing experience and a mod which causes smelters to provide smithing experience, you may have reached your goal or at least gotten closer. And with a mod that provides exp for the smelter, you can get even more exp with a mod that allows you to break down unwanted gear.

There are a few to choose from. I'm obviously partial to my Random Mining mods (original and MCM versions). The MCM version is configurable thus you can give yourself more XP per ore gained than my default of one point. I believe Advanced Mining also gives experience.

Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade, I believe, provides some experience for mining as well as smelting. At any rate I know that it conflicts with my mining mods (edits same script, my mod will work with it if installed / loaded after). ARS Metallica provides XP for smelting. I don't quite recall but I think both mods also have some break down capabilities as well.

For me personally, I used my Random Mining MCM with ARS Metallica and quickly found out that I maxed my smithing while just making all the crap for one of the Hearthfires houses. Had to slow it down for the next play through, so I removed the XP gain from the smelters.

Cool! I already use Ars Metallica so I'll add in Random Mining and try again when Kolskeggr restocks. As I did the whole Aetherium Crown with Lover's Stone *and* Warrior's Stone with Ancient Knowledge boost and something like 75 dwarven ingots (gathered metal and ingots from returning the lexicon and getting the Crown) and I made Dwarven Bows and I barely scratched the surface, it came up but it was barely perceptible. O.o That was percentage boost on top of percentage boost on top of percentage boost and, nada.

Hmm... could have been my play style. I always had some kind of bag of holding or carried container. I would mine every vein I saw in the wild and clear out every mine I encountered. Then I'd be smelting for a very long time.

Still with the mining mod giving experience you could set yourself up to mine a quarry deposit and go watch a movie, provided you have Hearthfires. When you come back you should have gained a huge chunk of exp. It won't be 'fast' but since the quarry deposits have a greater resource count than normal veins you will get more without having to keep looking for a new vein.

Well, that's turning out to be pointless. I got the mod, Random Mining MCM, installed. I check marked the 'gain experience' check box and set it to Hard Worker and, well, cleared out Gloombound mine, getting 7 to 9 per, 115 ish ebony ore total, and I never saw any pop ups saying I gained any experience. O.o

It isn't designed to give pop ups or any sort of feedback. Besides, I said you could use it along side the other things to help with the skill gain. Every little bit of exp helps right?

You will have to craft stuff, break stuff down and mine stuff. It will still take some time.

If you want to get 100 and not work for it at all, just use the console to give yourself the experience. Or use Uncapper and change the skill multiplier so that you could get multiple levels with a handful of crafted items.
