My version is 1.4.0.2.8 I think and skse64 is 2.0.2, using MO 2 to mod.

I am fine in most areas (40+ FPS) but around whiterun solitude and during heavy battles I am getting dips as low as 18FPS.

One question I have is about draw distance, I couldn't find anything when I searched; with dyndolod and the trees mod installed can I lower settings in the .ini files for draw distance to increase FPS? Or will that make everything look terrible?

I was running this same mod list on my desktop with a 6600k, gtx 1080 and 8 GB of RAM, and I wouldn't go below 50fps ever. Is it my hardware? I know the dyndolod settings were maxed when I generated LOD, and I think most of the texture mods have 2k/4k resolutions.

I had to leave USA suddenly and didn't have any time to test skyrim on this laptop before I left, I just copied and pasted from my desktop.

Skyrim works, and is generally playable but I'd like to squeeze some more FPS out of this 1060 if I can. Any thoughts or input appreciated, thanks for reading!

if you haven't already, implement the performance options for any/all texture packs you install. install the SSE fixes (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10547/), follow the instructions by kotobukkiya, download Beth.ini, lower your shadow textures to 1024 or lower, and your draw distance by half, if you're using enb, use the mods performance option (ie. low DoF, etc.)

following these simple suggestions will surely increase your game's fps.

ps: if you can help it, maybe install your main games onto a ssd (or sshd). you'll be in for a bad time playing off of hdd due to the slow r/w all hdd inherently (which ultimately means longer load times).

ENB isn't the problem. its only costing me 3-5 fps and load times aren't really that bad on this HDD.

Something is murdering my FPS, I'm thinking its the high res LOD I generated (2048) for use with my 1080 and this 1060 is chugging with only 3 GB of VRAM.

Lowering shadows and draw distance helped a little, but when I reach a densely forested area such as outside of whiterun I'm getting ~20 FPS which is pathetic.

Might have to just not use dyndolod and the trees, or buy something shiny and new.

I feel like I should be able to make this work, I guess I'll reinstall textures at lower res and see if that helps.

EDIT: I regenerated LOD with textures at 256 and atlas at 512. Running much much better. I had forgotten I had set those values so high when making the first archives. Mods pls feel free to lock or delete this. Thanks
