Dweedle
I run Skyrim on High settings, not the max high settings but on High it runs like a beauty, just wondering will my laptop run Sims 3 as well? hopefully this question isn't too vague. JimboUK
I can't see why not, The Sims 3 is designed to run a on wide variety of machines and has far lower requirements than Skyrim.

While visually easier, the Sims can be rather processor heavy since it is managing up to around 50 unscripted entities in an area and dozens more in the background. If you have an i5 or comparable you might be fine, but it would likely bring most i3 processors to their knees.
JimboUK
Runs just fine on my sister in laws i3 laptop, it is very CPU heavy but then so is Skyrim. The Sims 3 will run on a P4, it even supports Intels god awful Graphics Media Accelerator series, I don't see how a machine that can run Skyrim on high can any problems with the Sims 3, unless of course you mod the hell out of it. Vagrant0
Looking back, and after poking around a bit to see if anything has been made that makes this game worth installing... I can't see how ANYONE could play this game without modding the hell out of it. Even with accounting for mods I just couldn't find myself having a valid reason to reinstall. Same deal with Spore... dazzerfong
I have a Core 2 Duo @ 3.16 Ghz, 4 GB RAM and a nVidia 9800 GTX+, and runs like a gem with pretty much everything turned on (except AA, which I set to 2x). You'll be fine, Sims 3 is not as intensive as Vagrant0 puts it, especially when you run it on the lesser settings, however, if your house is big.................get ready for stuttering. Modding is all I ended up doing with it, the game itself gets old very quickly. It's the only game I can think of where the characters control the player, you spend all your time obeying the commands of the needy AI.
SicariusG
I agree the sims gets boring very quickly without mods.

Awevalan
The only thing I really ever did with the Sims or SimCity games was to play for a little while, get bored, finds the codes, and then use those codes to make mansions or insane cities. The games themselves are fun but I think it's a mood you have to be in to play them...maybe you have to be in the God Complex mood...always kinda felt that way lol...
