meshing tutorial

I wish you could give me some help...

after reading a few tutorials I have extracted an helm mesh from the Chorrol Statue of Vanilla Oblivion. I make a texture and after some hours of texturing , I wanted to see how my WIP look in oblivion, but when i try to export the .blend file to a .nif file, I had a bud surprise:

After trying several times watching step by step all the tutorial I can found and search in every forum someone who had my problem, I prefered countinue to work on the texture wishing someone can help me...

The error message is a bit vague so I guess it could be any one of a number of things.

 

Here are some things you can try but if none of them work, zip it up and attach to these forums so we can download and have a look.

 

* Go into EDIT mode (TAB), Press A to select all verts, press W, Remove Doubles. This might fix your problem if you have a collapsed face along a line.

* Press CTRL + A to apply size and rotation (I think that's the hotkey)

Thanks but bothing is changed,(I stop at the step 34/35 of your tutorial :S )I also can't work on the mesh in the menu shaders... probably I do something wrong..

i attach the blend file wishing you could give me some help.. I have downloaded mods for so long and now I want to realize my own ideas...

I don't know but at me it worked just fine.

 

Download the files below...

 

1: Blender file with armature only ready to export

 

2: Nif file done. All you need to do is to set the texturing path to your texture and add it to the game.

Hi guys I'm here again...

after succefully putting in oblivion my helmet I decided make an armor too...

but when I open the game and equipe the armor my game crash to desktop...

previously the mesh was not visible...

but I don't know the reason... after triyng few time to reimport it to blender and parent ot a new skeleton I obtain the CTD...

I also had problem with the helmet_gnd that crush my CS and with the icon because for some reason I can't remove the mipmaps (I work with DXTBmp)...

I can't attacch the mesh and the textures cause are too large.. if someone is interested to help me I'll send the file via e-mail... thx

General Tips:

  • Be sure that your exported NIF file's Node tree looks similar to Bethesda meshes by using a simple comparison.
  • Try importing your new NIF file back into Blender and see if there are any errors.
