another stupid question

Im a totally n00b to morrowind, just been playing it for about 2 days now.

Ive chosen to be a mage, but in all the time I have been playing, ive been wandering around.

Some of my skills are going up verry quickly becouse of this traveling (contant jumping and running around) so thats good.

But when I encounter monsters, I always have to use this "firesplit" spell or something.

my question is, is it possible to gain new destruction spells, like learning them becouse the constant using of this 1 spell to kill monsters is getting old.

also, how can I keep my mana up all the time, couse everytime thats empty I need to sleep, but when enemies are around that impossible.

any pointers are welcome and appreciated, so far I think this is a great game, though there is SO MUCH to do that its all getting real confucing for me, so any help on how to created a good mage, wich skills/spells are appreciated.

ps: is morrowind only single player or also on the internet?

You do not learn spells naturally. You acquire one spell in CharGen per school of magic you choose- for example, choosing Illusion gives you a Blind spell. You can only buy spells from spell merchants or make new spells (with the same spell effects that you currently know) with a spell maker.

The only thing that improves when you use a magic skill is the skill itself, and therefore your proficiency at it.

You can restore your magicka with potions or scrolls. As you progress in the game, you will have access to higher-level souls and enchanting material. You can enchant a Constant Effect Resotre Magicka item, or have it enchanted for a ridiculous sum of money.

If you follow the main quest (go to Balmora), and you join the mage's guild, you'll find more than a half-dozen people more than willing to sell you dangerous spells.

I believe you might even find some helpful spells if you talk to everyone in Pelegiad on your way there.

About restoring magicka:

The easiest way would be to sleep (as long as you didn't choose the birthsign "atronach"). Note that it is much more dangerous to sleep in the open than simply clicking the action button on a bedroll or hammock in a town or dungeon.

If you join the mages guild you can "borrow" some restore magicka potions.

One you level up a bit more in the alchemist school, you can make your own restore magicka potions using comberry and daedra's heart, though finding daedra's heart requires some bravery--you have to hunt down dremora in deadric ruins and such.

Doing constant restore magicka enchantments on items is even more daunting. It requires soultrapping "Golden Saint" daedra, among the most powerful creatures in the game. Soul trapping even more powerful creatures is another option (you will have to do your own research). As mentioned above, you need outlandish sums of money to enchant these constant-effect items.

Good luck in any case, don't get too frustrated as you'll find more than enough spells than you could ever possibly keep track of.

Ive got another situation here, after killing Dagoth Gares, he spoke with hes last words a curse on me, wich infected me with Coprus.

So I went back to the city and the spymaster told me to go to this Tel'Fyr Tower and ask the mage who lives there to heal me.

The mage gave me the potion, he said I got "healed", but yet my intelligence among other attributes as well are REALLY low.

My intelligence should be 72, but its only 49 now.

When I press inventory, I see my intelligence and other attributes marked in red.

any fix for this?

Shrines will heal you up to 100, but our dear moderator already said that.

Another way to do it is with the "Restore attribute" spells from "Restoration"-group of magic.

I always carry a ring with me with:

Restore "Attribute" 1-7 for 1 sec on self.

Replacing the "Attribute" with all 8 attributes.

When you enchant an object, 8 is the max different spells you can use.

Conviniently 8 also is all 8 different attributes, thanks Bethesda :D

The object above is great, cause when "blight"-injures/decieaced, you can just cast a cure blight deciease and then use the ring til you are back to normal. :whistling:

yeah, I got it back now, went to a healer and bought some potions to heal me.

But about that ring, inchanting items cost a lot of money, and it seems to be that the maximum magicka point you can get on an item is 400. (grand soulgem with golden saint soul)

But when doing missions, you somethimes get items with about 2000 magicka on them.

Anyway possible to make such strong enchanted items yourself, or maybe someone else in MW who can?
