erad25
*pulls out hair* After 36 hours of continuous trial and error, scouring for more tutorials, videos, and general aid...I'm getting discouraged. I'm trying to create an armor (see details and images here or clothing set. I've managed to get Nifskope, Blender, Python, and GIMP in working order. I successfully pulled meshes from the Skyrim BSA archives, editted them in Nifskope, and imported them into Blender. But I'm now at a loss. I'm currently looking at a CBBE Slim_0 body next to a Vanilla Vaermina Robe_0 mesh. I will likely have to roll with a Vanilla body too, though that has proved more difficult to achieve due to some BSALighting something rathers screwing up Blender (I swear I delete them all every time I try). My plan is/was to use the bottom portion of the Vaermina robes to craft the skirt section (see image here if you didn't go to the previous link) and to use a slightly scaled body mesh for the upper half of the armor model for a more form fitting mesh than the robe. But I have no idea how to cut, draw, or create anything within Blender itself. I've managed to duplicate a body and scale it...but that's pretty much it. I'm hoping somebody with experience sees this thread and might be interested in partnering with me on this. Or at least steering me in the proper direction. Please? majistik
Its sounds like you want to model the mesh. I dont use blender i use 3ds max and export a nif file to nifskope. Maybe there is a possibilty to model in blener - I have never tried it. Hope it helped.

Okay, and you'd use Nifskope for the modelling? I was told Nifskope was for finishing touches after Blender.

No i use only 3Ds-max of modelling, I then export NIF file to nifskope(for finishing toches). maybe blender is like 3ds-max (i dont sure) you may want to search a blender modelling tutorial. PopReference
Blender is a 3D modeling program similar to 3Ds max, except blender is free for everyone and isn't fully compatable with skyrim .nif files, yet. Hey erad25 can you share what versions of Blender, Nifscope, scripts, etc. so we can know what your working with for starters, just to make sure you're have all the right tools. Also what tutorials you've been through so far, I know there's a lot out there but you may have missed an important one.
erad25
I believe I'm using the files from here. I may be wrong, as I downloaded other versions prior to finding that page. But everything seems to be working. Blender can't work without Python. Blender can't import NIF's without NIF Script plugin working. Nifskope...um...has been working. I think. And yes, I used that tutorial to accomplish what I've done so far.
huntsman2310
Blender is fairly hard to get into, but believe me, 3DS max is even worse. I find Blender easier to use, simply because almost every function has a hotkey assigned to it. Its UI is also completely customizable, And its easy to create new things on there. I've found that armour tends to be a bit tough to make whether you are using Blender or 3DS max. Simply put, the best one is usually the one you are the most comfortable with using. Well, the various Japanese named modders seem to put out a new armor every other day. But most of those tend to be 90% nude. Easier to make maybe?
