Dynamic Radio stations

Greetings everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I was fooling around NV doing an AWOP(a World of Pain) playthrough with solid project, and Project Nevada in my ongoing wait for the release of Fallout: New California, when I started to listen to the enclave radio from that quest mod. Then an idea hit me while I was reflecting on Fallout's radio system and listening to a podcast. Would it technically be possible to create a radio station and have it communicate with a server somewhere on the cloud, and get its pool of audio to play from there? I am picturing an in game station that, once installed gets things added to it as time passes. I have some minimal experience writing back end, server side code so that isn't a huge issue, the programming aspect will likely just take trial and error but I'm curious if the technology would even allow a modder to do that in FO4, and how.

that is an awesome hypothetical,

"embeddable aural nodes", "live-acting in videogames/AR" etc.

embeddable livestream 2D-3D decal applique nodes...

I will send a long-form Inbox to chat about this hypothetical in more technical detail.

already,

we can 'post-process' and listen to livestreams from stream sources,

like STEAM's music folder,

or such as Spotify, Soundcloud, AmbientFM, etc and subscription stuff like SonyBMI, The Orchid, Youtube Red Premium (an awesome one)

while in game.

it is a key selling feature of those services

a lot of people listen to audiobooks or podcasts while playing games,

or music while playing FPSs and RTSs etc.

they turn the in-game audio output to 0,

and turn their post-stream up hehe.

but, the acoustics and sound isn't a node in-game, it requires alt-tabing

and keying events from a timer-framework...

it's just CUMBERSOME that way.

the same is true of visual node

you can livestream cartoons etc from indiestuff like DevArt muro streams etc,

or embed dynamic gif and swf,

but, they're not available in-game as such...

it's a side-game event, its CUMBERSOME.

I heartily encourage such ambitious concepts!

it can be done,

thanks to ESL, ESX formats etc,

and stuff like AGI, AGIXML,

Python-Nyquist, Perl 462, Squizzle, etc...
