Dolly98
the LOD tree textures are so bright and pop out, is there a way to darken them so they don't stand out as much?
TheWilloughbian
Yes, but it's not that easy. LOD is an advanced topic to say the least. If you really want to know more about it give this a watch. https://youtu.be/kB2rqH7Ytko It's not for SSE, but it will give you the basics. As far as how to make the change you are after. You could try replacing the Tamriel Tree LOD texture with some thing more to your liking.
yausd
You could change the brightness of the tree LOD texture atlas in Data\textures\terrain\[worldspace]\trees\[worldspace]treelod.dds directly.Though easier and better results are achieved by using SSELODGen (get the latest beta version which also includes terrain LOD generation) to generate CK like LODs. It has a drop down to change the brightness of the tree LOD atlas it generates.Typically, mod users use DynDOLOD (an improved version of SSELODGen/TES5LODGen) to generate drastically improved tree and object LODs for the load order. Generating CK LODs or drastically improved LODs for the load order is easy AF since these tools were related a few years ago.
