JimboUK
Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? as you can see from the video it's two different hairs and two different areas. The only mod I've added since it started is Salt Lake Stories and I doubt that's responsible. It's not worth posting my load order, it's mostly made up of renamed merged stuff whose names will mean nothing to anyone but me.
YanL
HAHAHA, it IS a disco hair XD Never see anything like this before
JimboUK
It's bizarre, to be honest I'm more interested in recreating it reliably than fixing it, Vegas needs a disco hair mod.
dubiousintent
Wow! That is freaky. The closest I've seen to it before is when the game grabs textures with the same filename from different BSA files because it doesn't have a way to choose between them. -Dubious-
JimboUK
The hair is supposed to be blonde but as you can see clearer on the second one the blonde has gone and it's cycling through various colours, none of which are presets, it's a mystery. YanL
Wow! That is freaky. Normally when this happens, there is a chameleon effect, with the mesh "stealing" the texture of the environment. It does not happen the way jim showed in the video, but will know if some mod is not interfering in this process.
JimboUK
The texture is correct both in the NIF and Geck, I'm guessing it's something to do with the way colour is applied to the hair, what's being displayed in game looks like the _hl texture with the colours going across it https://puu.sh/zEQFy/56e54f373d.jpg
dubiousintent
Not an area of expertise, but I suspect it's related to the "DDS/DXT" compression codec used. See this "Working with DDS/DXT Files" article. -Dubious-
JimboUK
They're the same DXT 5 textures that I've used for years, it might just be a coincidence but I disabled Salt Lake Stories after finishing it and it hasn't happened since, I had a look through the mod but I can't find anything that would do something like that. dubiousintent
The characters in SLS are based on Type3 bodies. Perhaps you aren't using the same body type, which would not map the hair textures correctly? Don't recognize the scene, so I'm supposing it's in SLS. -Dubious-
