ElricOfGrans
Something if beginning to bug me. Well, two things really. 1) Every second mod I download, the readme is called readme.txt. Guess what happens? They all overwrite each other. I can read your readme when I first install, but if I wanted to go back later I may not be able to. Simply putting your mod's name into the filename solves this issue (and half of you already do this anyway!). 2) Everyone seems to have a different way of putting their readmes/screen shots/optional files into Data. As such, I have dozens of different directories with one or two mods' worth of files. Would it be possible to standardise this? All readmes and other documents into `docs', all screenshots into `screenshots', and perhaps optional files into `optional files/[your mod name]/'? I realise that this probably means nothing to you, but it makes it a heck of a lot easier for the user to find what they are looking for, so probably increases the likelihood we actually read/look at the things you are giving us. For those with optional files, if you are making your mod NMM compatible, you probably should have a proper NMM install script for these anyway (most relevant mods I have used seem to, but a handful of popular ones do not). Sorry to be a complainer, but these seem awfully simple things to do that would make everything a little more professional.
David Brasher
You are right about naming readme files. I like a format sort of like "Readme - Dark Dungeon 1_3." I usually don't unpack readme files, other documents, and screenshots. I just store them in my compressed downloaded copy of the mod. (I usually save all of my compressed downloaded mods unless I am absolutely sure I never want to play them again.) So since I don't unpack these documentation files, they don't junk up my directories. I can read the documents in 7-Zip.
