Phil5000
Hi there. I'm new to the GECK and I'm having trouble working with the two main Camp McCarren cells, CampMCTerminal01, and CampMCTerminal02. The problem with 02, the main terminal building is that the cell is nearly empty. When you go there in game there is furniture, food and bits and pieces and the like. But when I open it and look at in in the GECK all that is gone, there's just a few NPCs in their undies. Could someone explain that? And in 01, the concourse area there is an object above everything else that covers nearly the entire cell. I think it's part of the building itself, and the problem is I can't select anything there because when I try to click on things I select this object. Double clicking reveals it to be called 'FXMistLow01LongHallVis' (000A4c64). I don't want to move it and risk not being able to get it back in position. Is there some way I can make it so it doesn't get selected so I can work with the objects underneath it? Many thanks.
Deleted2547005User
CampMCTermainl02 uses room markers, and the NV GECK will obscure everything within those marker as it would in the game. You have two options: 1.) is to download the PowerUp GECK, simply search for GECK in the New Vegas Files and you'll find it. It has an option (there are two but I'm not sure which one has the option) to turn them off. 2.)Find the GECKcustom.ini file in your games folder in your user account and manually change the variable in the file for the follower code bUseMultibounds to 0. This will make them disappear and allow everything to be seen. I would suggest #1, but I use #2 because #1 never worked for me. Word of Warning! If you use option two, this will cause the GECK to crash when it loads a multibound. Luckily, they are rarely used in New Vegas, I think they are only used in the Lucky38 worldspace. Of course, its as simple as changing that variable to 1 again. CampMCTerminal01 I would delete the object and then use FNVedit to remove the overwrite for that object in your mod, like an ultimate undo button. Or write down its xyz location and then move it out of the way, then return it. Also, there is a selectable objects dialog under the edit menu. chucksteel
You don't have to delete the object or, move it. just select the object and press the "1" key once and, it will fade and, not be selectable. If you hit the "1" key twice it will be hidden. if the item, object is still selected hit the "1" key again and, it will reappear. If you've hidden items objects and, want to see everything again just hit the "F5" key, this will refresh the render window and, everything in the cell will be visible again. hope this helps, chuck
rotarydanimal
in the GECK you can check or uncheck several viewable options in the view menu without changing the .INI click "view" in the tool bar select "show/hide window" Edited April 13, 2012 by rotarydanimal
