Abrar200312
Looking for someone owning a gtx 970 (or below, no problem) who can post the visual setup they r using. Everytime i try to mod skyrim using a guide or on my own, i end up making my game really unstable. :( PS: My other specs r pretty high enuf with an i7 and 16gb RAM along with SSD so those r not factors to consider for the time being
wfandrews
I have a GTX 970 4gb on a Windows 7 64 HP SP1 and have been using Nyclix's ENB Reshade for some time. As I recall it was quite easy to install and I liked the DOF and LOD besides the general look. I did not notice any significant loss of fps with it installed. As you know mods, including enb's and reshades, are really a personal preference kind of thing; keeping that in mind you might do well to google something like "enb and reshades for Skyrim Special Edition". It is what I did and a number came up.
sopmac45
Looking for someone owning a gtx 970 (or below, no problem) who can post the visual setup they r using. Everytime i try to mod skyrim using a guide or on my own, i end up making my game really unstable. PS: My other specs r pretty high enuf with an i7 and 16gb RAM along with SSD so those r not factors to consider for the time being I do not think there are special mods for every single video card out there. Assuming that you have 8gb of dedicated video in your card, you will be ok. Your game stability will depend on a lot of factors and I would not rule out your video card but honestly, that would be the least to worry about as long as you have 8gb. How many mods will you install ? What type of mods ? ENB consumes fps a lot for example ... load order is probably the number one cause for a game to be unstable and even if you had the Nvidia 1080 titan, there is not a perfect game. A lot of people may say they never have a CTD but there are a very good number of very knowledgable people who do not believe that there is perfect game and that you never had a single CTD in your game. I personally have the Nvidia 1070 and I have had CTD's always .... I have learned to live with that because Bethesda games are not stable and lot of things can happen while you are playing that can cause a CTD. Now, to avoid them as much as you possibly can, there are a lot of things that you need to do ( assuming that you have 8gb ); are other programs running in the background ? Check your task manager and see which ones are enable all the time or at startup so they will continue running while you are playing and that is a factor to be considered; any anti-virus running ? Another possible cause. Internet connections and speed ? Amount of mods loaded ? Type of mods ? Did you clean your game master files via SSEEdit ? Do you have reliable mods installed, have you sorted them out via LOOT ? Have you created a SSEMerged patch to make things easier with your plugins compatibility ? Have you resolve conflicts between mods via SSEEdit ? And yet, you may have some CTD's. One thing I do not do anymore, is to have two mods of the same kind. I simplify my load order. For example, Immersive Sounds and another sound mod ... even though they may be compatible ( by mod author ), I try not to have two but one. ENB mod ? Only one. And so on, but still I have gotten CTD's. Another super important thing that you should pay a detailed attention. Before you install a mod, read, read, read and read the description. Look for load order and compatibility suggestion by the mod author. Not there ? Read the posts all the time and read what other users are saying about that particular mod. I have decided not to install mods that have a lot of fuss in the POST tab of that mod. When the river sounds, is because stones are running in its flow !! Ask questions if you need to, but do not install a mod that a lot of users are complaining about. Rule them out. Also, you need to install the Unofficial Skyrim Patch and SKSE64 so it will help you ... beside other bug fixer mods out there. So, there are a lot of factors but do not be afraid if you have a good video card, again, as long as you have 8gb you should be fine. Some users may say 4gb is enough but I cannot vouch about that. Happy gaming ! By the way, I running Skyrim with only 100 mods because to be honest with you, I prefer quality than quantity and I do not really need more than I have. :geek:
wfandrews
I am one of the users that say 4gb is enough. It is much more important to have a 64 bit OS without which there is not much point in getting SSE. Otherwise sopmac45 gave you good advice on the tools you need to have a stable modded game. My mod load is usually between 80 and 100 mods, relatively light by many peoples standard, and it is very stable. The only CTDs I get I can trace to another programs interference not SSE itself which I can play for hours without a CTD or crash. Actually, like a lot of players, I find SSE much more stable than oldrim.
Deleted47329688User
i have a 4gig card and trust me its enough for 100 mods and more i have so 135 mods and enb all ultra am testing alot of mods only problem i have is a area with tons off trees i use a mod to ad more tree then normal so its a very thick forest very nice but my fps can drop around 20 fps and towns like whiterun that i mod to with noble skyrim 2k and also more trees there i have so 50 fps i use a program CAM to see the info on my motherboard and what i see skyrim heavy moded eat more on my cpu then gpu that indicator what cam shows for my cpu is going up and down from lets say 1000 ghz to over 4000 ghz my cpu is a 8 core amd fx 4.0 ghz its a old chip but ok it stil works good funny that cam sometimes show so 4200 ghz when my cpu is not overclocked ??but that what i think am not realy i tech kinda man am just testing alot i have try to play 8 hour strait np ad all sometimes i dc but thats normal with so many mods :)

Happy gaming ! By the way, I running Skyrim with only 100 mods because to be honest with you, I prefer quality than quantity and I do not really need more than I have. :geek: The biggest issue here is that i have only 4GB VRAM  As for my mod choice i prefer visual eye candies aka graphic mods (ENBs texture mods etc) but however every time i am close to having a good setup my game becomes unstable (fps drops and other glitches ingame). I can live with glitches CTDs (if not too frequent) and other bugs that won't hinder my gameplay that much but MAJOR fps drops... that'd be a big no. I'm really bad in arranging load orders so i trust LOOT with that. I have a basic idea of all the types of mods and how to install them but nonetheless its always temporary. Possibly i overdo it? idk but neglecting load order could be a big thing. I cleaned master files with SSEDIT but have little to no idea about merge patches and resolving conflicts. I overclocked my gpu by +100mhz once and +400mhz memory clock with EVGA precision, didn't help much. as far as i know with these specs im supposed to be fine with only the major overhauls. Nonetheless a single big texture pack causes fps drops in certain places (riverwood borders specifically). THUS to avoid all this hassle i just want someones load order and mods for a 970 or less (i dont mind the extra fps and stability). I tried guides like the S.E.P.T.I.M and followed them like a religious book step by step (they said to select 1-2k textures and some 4k textures for gtx 960 and cards in that range, i chose 2k) but at the end of the day i get 30fps or less in riverwood and even inside cities all due to those big city additions probably....
