15-20 FPS in Boston City

Hello,

I'm trying to find out why my framerate is around 15-20 when going into Boston. I looked up all the technical issues online and Google and nothing works. Interesting though if I iron sight my weapon my frame rate goes up to 30 fps and when using a sniper scope it jumps to 55+ fps. I tried downloading boardless, lowering setting, but the problem still presist My specs are the following:

That area is hard on many systems. I have a FPS between 45-55 depending on the exact area.

I can't tell if this is your load order, but if it is then it is really messed up. All the DLCs should be above the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch. Try using LOOT so sort the load order, but I have found it dose not all ways place mods in there correct order. There are also several helpful threads to get it set right.

 

Some mods do affect the area more than other's, but I don't know most of what you have.

I don't know what they are putting in the updates, but 4 months ago I hardly ever went below 60, now no mods, fresh install, and when I get XP for finding a new location it's at least 5 mins. late. In the middle of nowhere I get 50 average. and 60 sometimes. I'm guessing all the CC stuff needs more resources from the GPU or It's just some more code problems. I started this Game almost a year ago and had NO, NO problems. 20 updates later...

I found out the problem. Apparently Sim Settlements do not play nice with scrap everything and scrap dead. Removing those took away the lag. Weird

I use Sim Settlements, and scrap everything, and have no major issues with my FPS. Only in settlements that get to large. The .ini edit for scrap everything can cause an FPS hit.

I don't use scrap dead.

Regarding your load order : Scrap Everything must be loaded at the bottom ... however, I am not saying that is the cause of fps in Boston. You have a full list ( 254 mods ), Boston is known to drops fps regardless of how good your rig is, but definitely, the more mods you have, the more things you are loading while in the city which is known ( as I said ) to be a complicated place in fallout 4 ....

 

... if Scrap Everything is a known mod that causes fps drops, is unknown to me ... in my own experience with that mod, I never had any problem and it is in my load order, an essential mod.
