orangeyman8
I am using Nexus Mod Manager to install my mods. I understand the necessity of the VirtualInstall folder, as that holds the files that are used in the game. However, why does the manager not allow me to delete the archives of the mods that are in the Mods folder (prior to the VirtualInstall folder)? I don't need to compressed files in order for the mods to function, but it nearly doubles the amount of storage used. I am running really low on storage and could use the space, is there a way I can delete the compressed files and only keep the files in the VirtualInstall folder? Am I completely misunderstanding what these files are? Thanks!
orangeyman8
I just figured out I can trick NMM by renaming files, so it doesn't realize I deleted the archives. Will it be ok if I just do that? I am not going to do it until I get the okay from someone here, it seems better than screwing things up and then having to fix it all.
