Vrakyas Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 Yes I did it again with much lower values and it works very nice. I used the following values:LOD4:*Meshes: Quality 0; Vertices 32767; Optimize 1000; Protect Borders*Diffuse: size 512; Format DXT1*; MipMap (* you can use Format 565 for diffuse if running Win10)*Normal: size 512; Format DXT1; MipMap; Raise steepness*no baked Normals LOD8:*same values, but both texture sizes 1024 LOD16:*same values, but both texture sizes 2048 LOD32:*same values, but both texture sizes 4096 This took me about 35 mins to generate everything. You'll need a decent PC (You can find my rig in my profile). Loading times will increase. It's more about the quality of the meshes, you can decrease the texture sizes if needed. I'm using the following settings in skyrim.ini now: [MapMenu]uLockedObjectMapLOD=8uLockedTerrainLOD=8 Here's a screenshot of the area around Solitude and Morthal: Remember that this will not work with "A Quality World Map" as it overrides these textures!
jucoking Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Any progress on this? Is it working well for you? On 4/3/2018 at 7:33 AM, TheWilloughbian said: Looks nice. I'll have to try it again. I am having a helluva time generating LOD for my custom worldspace and am looking at all possible fixes.
TheWilloughbian Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I still use Oscape to generate my LOD meshes. It's been a while since I've done it though.

Is there any advice or a guide you can link me to that will help with the process? I'm at wits end with LOD. Edited May 11, 2019 by jucoking
TheWilloughbian Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 It's been so long.... On that first screen where you tick your ESP also tick the Skyrim ESM. That should help with your textures.
TheWilloughbian Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 You could also use XLODGen just to generate the LOD textures.

jucoking Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Have you ever seen or had this problem (black boxes around trees)? I have attached a screenshot. Also my distant land textures are just black. I wouldn't normally post it here but I'm pretty desperate and LOD generation has not been straightforward at all, that includes using xLODGen.
TheWilloughbian Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) hmm. Something is definitely wrong with your billboards. What did you use to generate the tree LOD? Edited May 16, 2019 by TheWilloughbian
