Vortex - Loot - SKSE

hi,

I have 2 questions and I would appreciate it if someone can answer it for me.

I have read that there should be a SKSE, loot and FNIS ?buttons? of some sort on the dashboard.

I cannot see any tool buttons on my dashboard.

Q1.

I am guessig I have to enable it so how do I do it?

Will running skse outside vortex work?

I keep getting this anoying massage in red that the msaterlist cannot be updated.

I tried it with Loot and loot also says the same thing.

I am using Win 7. Google says that it is because of old certificates etc. don't know.

It also says that you can manually download the master list and went on to explain it.

But of course it was a whole sentence of explination which I did not understand.

Q2.

Can some kind and knowledgable person on here instruct me in how to manually

download and place the required file in the required place please.

Oh A side question.

I am trying to convert to Vortex and I have installed all mods that I had running with MNN.

Now in Vortex I am saked to resolve conflicts. How do I know what come after or before something else.

In NMM I just overrote everything. What if it is a 3 some situation when one goes inbetween the other two?

What do I do then? It is difficult to see the logic of what comes before and then others come after without regard to what is happening with the two that you are deciding about. My mind is spinning just thinking about it.

It would be nicer if they just listed the conflicting files and then make you assign numbers next to them in the order you would like them loaded so you don't have to deal with this fefore and after thing. It was so bad that i actually managed to

make a circular rule A is before B and B is before A. what the @#@#@!$.

Anyway I am sure someone else will complaing about it soon.

I think Moving to Vortex broke my game because I only get the splash screen with the Skyrim logo.

First question, what version are you using? There was a change in the protocol to get the masterlist and only the latest versions of Vortex use the new one.

Since Vortex does not use a virftualization system like MO, you can run SKSE without Vortex running and all your mods will be there. One of the big advantages of the new method.

When resolving conflicts, you need to ask which mods files you want to win, i.e. which ones get loaded. Let's say you install Mod A, then Mod B, and finally Mod C. Well, Mod C has files that overwrite the files in Mod A meaning the game will load Mod Cs files. If you instead wanted to keep those specific files from Mod A, you would tell Vortex to install Mod A after Mod C. Whichever mod is set to load *after* will be the mod that wins the conflict. Now, as to the specifics of any given file within a mod, you would need to know about the mods themselves and is outside the scope of Vortex.

In order to get updated to the latest Vortex, got to Settings, Vortex tab, and select Beta in the Update drop down. Restart Vortex and you should get an update notification.

Circular rules happen when you tell two mods to do the same thing. If you tell Mod A to load after Mod B, do not tell Mod B to load before A. You only need one or the other, not both.

I hope that covers most of your questions.
