SubjectProphet
So, I don't see a backpack or anything on you, so where do you keep you're armor and weapons when you're not using them? In you're pants? In another magical realm?

SubjectProphet
Ah! Thank you for the links! Now my character actually has somewhere to store things in rather than the magic realm! Kudos!

RedRavyn
We're like cartoon characters. We have "Back Pockets" in which we can store an almost infinite number of infinitely large and heavy items. Unfortunately, unlike cartoon characters we don't just "fall down" and then get back up. We actually die when we get stomped by a mammoth or munched by a dragon. memlapse
I use armed to the teeth for weapons, and my horse carries the rest of my crap. I used to use Bag of Holding, but I tend to forget it's there and it becomes very much like my wife's purse. Crap goes and it never comes out. I also created my own mod that turned potion bottles into vials. It didn't make much sense that I can carry several 1 liter bottles in a magic pocket. Who says that potency has to be determined by bottle size. It's my attempt to keep things realistic. My camping gear, food, water, etc are in saddle bags, so I managed to keep things realistic. The vial mod is my answer to the problem of having to ask any attacking enemies to wait while I rummage through my saddle bags for a restore health potion. beazalbob69
I figured it was already unrealistic so I just said screw it and upped my carry weight to 3000 and never looked back. Hoard everything else back at breezehome. Let's see I need to clear those Draugr out of that tomb. 8 swords....check, 3 shields....check, 3 or 4 sets of armor....check, 1000 lbs of potions....check, etc. Can never be too prepared. Perraine
Hmmm, I don't really have this problem 'coz I'm an obsessive seller. Every 2 or 3 days I visit "The Riverwood Traders" who have "Everything I Need" plus about 11k gold to by all my crap
RedRavyn
My earlier quip about "back pockets" aside, I stick with my vanilla carrying capacity. Especially in my current playthrough I don't need to carry a bunch of junk around. I'm not doing primary quests, I'm staying out of the walled cities and guarded towns (I already have a high bounty in Whiterun, so I don't dare show my fuzzy face around there), and I'm just playing as a basic rogue. Sure, I took over Anise's cabin, but the only storage I use there is the apothecary satchel downstairs (for ingredients I don't want to carry around), the chest upstairs (for potions I don't want to carry around), and the cupboard upstairs (as temporary storage for things I want to sell). In case people are wondering, some of the other containers there are safe, too. I just wouldn't trust any of the sacks. In my previous ten playthroughs of this game I don't think my standard loadout (all the items I actually use) have ever amounted to more than 180 ... uh, whatever the units of weight measurement are. That gives me at least 120 extra to haul things out of caves and dungeons, and I generally restrict myself to items with at least a 1:10 weight:value ratio. After all, I really don't need a lot of money, anyway. As it is, I'm at level 15, now, only trading with the Riverwood Trader, Alvor, and the caravans and I have everything I need in under 100 pounds (or whatever) and over 8000 gold that I'm never going to be able to spend. I make the things I can, using whatever facilities I can find. Anise's cabin has an Alchemy station and Enchanting station. Alvor has all the other crafting facilities except for a smelter, but a lot of mines have those. There are several wood-chopping blocks in Riverwood for that firewood I need to make charcoal (so I can make steel) and arrows. I sneak around, gather what I can, steal what I can't, and I'm having a lot of fun. I don't need a ton of storage because I sell things I don't need as soon as people have the money to buy it, and I don't need to personally own an entire wardrobe of clothing and jewelry or a warehouse full of armor and weapons. I actually have always found it odd that modders create huge mansion-like dwellings with a hundred or more storage containers. Whatever is anyone going to put in all those boxes, barrels, chests, and bags, anyway Hoarding stuff makes no sense to me. Even if I wanted to hoard, I could organize everything I get out of the game in a dozen or so containers. Maybe next playthrough I'll play a "packrat" and try to see what the lure is for that sort of thing. I can see, for instance, trying to make a collection of every book in the game, or maybe acquiring one full set of every type of armor (with mannequins to display it). To be fair, there are some "collectables" in this game like the <fill in the blank>-in-a-jar items, and I can understand people wanting to collect all the dragon claws (even stealing The Golden Claw back from Camilla and Lucan). Honestly, though, there aren't a lot of such unique items floating around in Skyrim, if you don't count all the unique weapons like Valdr's Lucky Dagger.
