maravizzo
Here it is the final solution to solve all the issues! It works perfectly for me, so I'm sharing hoping it can be usefull for others. First of all: stop disabling mods, updating drivers etc. This CDT has nothing to do with that.Actually it is created by a stage of the main quest (I still don't know how). Some people suggest to use “coc” to bypass the entrance of the Sky Haven Temple: this allow to continue the main quest, but the whole area will not be accessible any more! 1 – Load a savegame before Esbern meets Delphine in Riverwood. Your main quest target should be: "Escort Esbern to Riverwood". This is very important: if you get “Talk to Esbern”, then it is too late, you must load something earlier. 2 - Escort Esbern to Riverwood and stop in front of the inn. DO NOT ENTER!Esbern should walk inside on his own. If he doesn't, try walking close to the entrance door, but never get inside: Esbern must enter without you or the bugged quest stage will be triggered. 3 – Now go to Karthspire's camp alone and be sure to kill all the Forsworns. Enter Karthspire and progress to the Blood Seal symbol (a passage blocked by a big face). 4 – Open the console and type: setstage MQ203 65prid 00013485moveto player Close the console and Delphine should be there. Open again the console and type: prid 00019DFDmoveto player Close the console and also Esbern should be there. Open again the console and type: setstage MQ203 140 Close the console and everything should go on fine :-) This solution was suggested by Zahikel on steam forum, but with a wrong RefID. IronDusk33
Since no one has replied after this I assumed it worked for everyone. Just for confirmation, this worked on my save and prevented me from losing almost 200 hours of gameplay!
StrikerGER
I have the CTD problem, too. My problem is also, that I don't own a savegame BEFORE I escorted Esbern to Delphine. The only savegame I own before that is missing the last 8 hours playtime, so I don't want to do the WHOLE dark brotherhood questline again :S (and some other side quests + main quests) help :/ Edited August 12, 2013 by StrikerGER
StrikerGER
I don't really want to push, since I don't really post in this forum, but this CTD is driving me crazy. The only method to solve this is loading a savegame before esbern arrives at the Inn. Welp, I dont really have a Savegame at that point :/

The only method to solve this is loading a savegame before esbern arrives at the Inn. Welp, I dont really have a Savegame at that point :/i've had this same problem just yesterday and worked on it all night, the bug is in the quest that makes Alduin go to various mounds resurrecting dragons, don't know what's the cause but some mounds fail to enable correctly and crash the game every time you load the correspondent cell, the way to avoid that is to disable the mound using the console. To disable the mound in Karthspire use the following commands: prid 000FDAE6disable note that other mounds around skyrim could be bugged too and cause ctd the same way in that case you'll need to find the id of that mound and disable it the same way. Apologies for bumping an older thread, but this fix worked for me - hoping it'll help save others some grief. I'd been crashing around Karthspire repeatedly earlier in my game (but still after the resurrections began), and assumed it was perhaps a mod issue. Was a little annoyed to find out the main quest brings me back here - to more recurring unavoidable CTD's. Any ramifications for disabling the mound? Doesn't break Alduin or anything, does it? Would it be a bad idea to enable after I'm done in the area?
foooterman
Hi. a small bump. I also get CTD when near Karthspire but i found on god knows what forum that Delphine might be the cause for the crashes. So using the console i selected her and disabled her, coc to KarthspireCamp aaaaand not CTD. ........... Tested with the classic method of getting to places in Skyrim : fast travel to Markarth and walk there.... boom CTD. dang. ........... Tried with both Delphine and Esbern disabled, only me and Lydia:- fast travel and walk to the damn place .... CTD - coc to the location .... no CTD So me and Lydia killed all the enemies and the dragon, entered the cave, killed some more stuff, past the puzzles, got at the temple door and went in.Inside i enabled them, waited one hour then they went and did what they supposed to do. So this method seems to work ( for me at least ) but i got to get the loot and the dragon soul that is outside the temple and finished the quest. Hope this helps someone and sorry for my bad English.
