epicmainbro114
Hi folks. I'm very new to the modding scene and need guidance/help or pointed in the direction of a tutorial that shows how to replace an NPC (in this case Pack Brahmin) with another work-horse (as an example Junk Yard Dog or Mr Handy). I believe I have to duplicate the Brahmin and do the changes but after that I am at a loss? Does anyone know a good guide on how to do this. I am really nervous at making changes as this is my first time doing mods and I don't want to mess up the 'vanilla' info of NPCs and then mess up my game. Thanks folks :D :D :D
chucksteel
I don't know of tutorial but, if I wanted to do this I would start by picking apart this mod. Replace Pack Brahmins with Eyebots. Looking at the vanilla game and other mods and how they do things is how we all get started.
epicmainbro114
Firstly thank you for replying chucksteel. We've chatted over on Beth.Net where my user name is wilsonraine114  Anyway.............. In regards to the 'looking at' the mod you suggested. I take it you mean go to >file>data>double click mod>set as active file. Take it the changes made by the mod author are shown in the Object Window. Would I be able to open both the mod and the brahmin template from fallout 4 to see the changes?
chucksteel
Yes you can open it in the Ckit but you want to get a copy of FO4edit. You can use it to see only the edits the mod makes before looking at them in the Ckit. Welcome to the nexus an to the wonderful frustrating word of modding.
