CrimsonKnight98
Summary: The game crashes whether or not I have mods installed when I try to kill my character with an explosion from the Experimental MERV. Windows 10 i7 7700K1060 6gb8gb RAM I have been trying to find the source of crashing in Fallout 3 for a week now and I can't figure out how to fix the crashing problem. At first I thought it was a mod conflict but I had about 80 mods installed and the crashes happened randomly at random intervals, SO I didn't want to remove each mod and wait for an hour or more each time to possibly get a crash. I then diabled all my mods in Mod Organizer and this still didn't stop the random crashes! I then removed everything pertaining to Fallout 3 in my computer: mods, files, registry stuff, etc. (I used Advanced Uninstaller Pro). Yesterday I reinstalled Fallout 3 Fresh and tried playing it with only FOSE, the 4gb patch, the AI Threading and HWThreads changed in the Fallout3.INI. From there I tried to make the game crash in a way that was reproducible, so I installed a god mode save and wreaked havoc on Megaton and Tenpenny tower. After an hour of blowing everyone and everything up I finally found a way to replicate a crash (coincidentally the first time the game crashed too)! If I use the Experimental MIRV and fire it directly at the ground until my character dies, the game freezes the second the killing shot(s) hits the ground. Is this normal? I know this all seems like a silly test especially since Fallout 3 is known to crash often, but when I was playing the game modded I also experienced infrequent crashes relating to when an explosion killed my character (not always though, some crashes, as stated before were random and not all explosion kills crashed). Could this be related? Anyway, to save time I will tell you what I did at an attempt to stop the reproducible crash:1. I tried with and without the INI edits2. I cleaned the DLC with FO3 Edit3. I restored a non 4gb patched version of Fallout 34. I ran the game in compatibility mode for Vista and in Admin Mode5. I ran the game without FOSE6. I updated Net Framework Any reason for the game to be crashing at this point or is it just an engine issue and possibly unrepairable? I appreciate any help I receive. Thank you in advance.
