SubjectProphet
Time since a game's release is inversely proportional to number of NEW mods created for it.Happens very game. :armscrossed: You mean "every" game, right? The Nexus will never decline, it's both a modding community and a hangout community, which is why I don't think I'll ever leave the site.
amycus
My experience is that the "modding activity" declines right after a new game has arrived (that is on the nexus), but the activity of these "older" nexus sites regain some activity again after a month or two. micalov
Less active= more trolls flock over to the Skyrim sites, good news for ppl modding on other games, although feel sorry for the staff and modders having to deal with them. Like others have said it is the way it goes the new "in thing" comes out in this case Skyrim a lot of modders focus of that, some stay, some float between different games and some return either temporary when they get bored of X game for awhile (It happens to everyone). In the long run yes there will probably be less mods in total being made for certain games but it will never die. People just embrace new stuff but there is always enough loyal followers of the old stuff top keep the fresh mods alive.
thestoryteller01
A rise & decline is only natural. Every new moddable game takes not only players but also modders away from the older games. I've been modding NWN2 since 2006 and I am not under the illusion that I'll still do this in 2026. But sites like the Nexus will always buzz with activity as long as moddable games are produced each year.
RubikNight
I've been working a questline mod BEFORE Skyrim was released and I still am. Good, proper mods take time and effort. That's why there's been a bit of a pause in release. Also remember, we have to adjust to patches made by Bethesda both to Skyrim and CK.
