CaptainCrunch
Hey guys, I have this problem that my character is moving way too fast. I used player.modav speedmult 102 and setgs fmoverunmult 2.7 in a speed.txt with console command bat speed. It worked perfectly fine, but unfortunately it seems the game set this as default and saved it. When I opened this savegame the cheated walk/run speed was already taking effect without me having to open the console. At first I thougt great, never typing bat speed in the console again. But then I had to carry very much and couldn't run so I opened the console and typed player.modav speedmult 120 or some other big number and moved ridiculously fast just so I don't have to travel that long way at slow speed. But now I can't change it back. No matter what number I choose the walking speed stays ridiculously fast. Is there anything I can do?
BlackRampage
Try "player.setav" instead of "player.modav". (yes, for both console commands)
CaptainCrunch
Nope, no change :(I tried to find these lines somewehre in the INI but couldn't. But the speed has to be saved somewhere right? Any idea where I can find it and alter it manually? Edited April 17, 2012 by CaptainCrunch
BlackRampage
Odd. I'm assuming you've already tried removing the speed.txt from your fallout 3 folder?
CaptainCrunch
Yep, also altered speed.txt. Nothing seems to help. Only thing I can do is setting setgs fmoverunmult to 0.3 or some like that, so at least the running speed is normal again
BlackRampage
Try "player.setav" instead of "player.modav". (yes, for both console commands)Actually, make that "player.forceav". Don't think it'll make much of a difference, but still.

UnkindCosin02
So this is happening to me now :/ i was trying to achieve speed cripple on the cliff outside 101 lastnight (i wasn't doing a speedrun but trying to use the tech) to no avail so i f***ed with console commands. Seemingly nothing happened until i booted up the game today and now i move at the speed of light. i tried using "player.forceav (setav and modav too) speedmult 100 " to put it back but nothing seems to happen just like last night. i rebooted the game but still moving at light speed. anybody have any suggestions? Edit:IT HAS BEEN FIXED!! CaptainCrunch thanks for the lead on fmoverunmult. directly in the console you can type "player.setgs fmoverunmult #" where "#" is any number you want. the base is 1.25 i think.i had it at 4 so i was almost flying everywhere.sorry to disturb the peace :) Edited July 21, 2021 by IWANTMODSwhyisthissohard
