nilmar12
hello. i have modded the apparence of the draugr armor because it was the template for the uniqe armor i made in the creation kit. the problem is that with this all the draugr armor has changed, and i was wondering if there is any way to make it so that only my armor has the unique apparence and still keep the old textures for the rest of the draugr. i hope someone understands what im trying to communicate ;) sincerly Nilmar
ghosu
You could make it a standalone armor by copying the 2 forms it uses so you can equip it and the original version stays untouched...ARMORname and nameAA, copy, rename/new ID and set up new paths to the edited nif files or use a textureset if you only edited the texture. ghosu
Well you have to rename the texture so it's not used by the original armor any more...so all NPCs run around with the original version because it stays untouched. After that you have to link you modded standalone version to the new texture...there are 2 common ways: 1. Fast version: Create a TEXTURESET, feed the search form to get some tutorials...a textureset can link the model to your new texture.2. Not so fast version: The model is inside a nif file...you have to extract the orgininal nif of this armor, open it in NifSkope and change the texture paths to your new texture. After that you have to adjust your standalone CK settings and link it to this new nif file. I'm not on my desktop atm so i can't provide any screenshots. greetings

nilmar12
okay so i tried this yesterday with some success, but there is still one problem i cant seem to find the reason for despite carefull reading of two torturials on the mather, so ile give a concise and short explanaiting of the current situation and hopefully someone can help ;) im able to change the texture of my unique armor but when i do so, all the details dissappear from the texture and it now looks like its made of rubber instead of iron :) the weird thing is that there is nothing wrong with the textures themself, since when i just put them in the texture folder within the game (so that the old armor my armor is based on also get the new color scheme this problem doesnt occur). the problem only happens im trying to link the textureset directly to my unique armor by modifying the armoraddon. any ideas? :) edit: problem fixed by adding the original ndds file to the normal gloss part of the texture set. nilmar12
the new problem is that i can get the weapon texture to show up when i preview it in the creation kit, but for some reason i doesnt show up in game, even after restarting. any ideas? ps this is ofcourse using the textureset again and not just overiding the old textures of the weapon i copied.
