File is hidden, but why?

Hi, this is a small request directed at the nexus admin staff:

would it be possible to add the ability for the author to include a message on his mod page when he or she sets a file to hidden?

at the moment when a modder hides a file other users have no idea why it has been hidden, if its only until an update is finished that is fine. but if there has been a serious bug found with the mod, or if it has been totally deleted and is not coming back, we have no idea when to uninstall mods.

im not asking for a comments section, just s small 250 word message box for the author to fill out explaining why the mod has been hidden.

it would make things a little less confusing when a file goes hidden with no explanation. (W.A.T.E.R is a good example, it has been hidden for several days and i still dont know what happened!)

thanks for reading this, even if you cant implement the idea.

I would have to agree on this, born2bkilled, it would indeed be níce if authers had the ability to explain why a mod has been hidden, and when or if it's going up some time again.

that will teach me for relying entirely on the NMM update method!

thanks for pointing this out guys, however i still feel hidden files on the nexus could benefit from a small message box with a reason for hiding the file.

its not going to change the world, but it could be useful.

As I've read that you can still post in the comments thread for the hidden mod, provided you can find it in the comments sub-forums by searching, how about a "visit this mod's comments section to find out why" link on the "file was hidden by author" notification page or something along that line?

Still, the possibility for a short notification or explanation line by the author on the same page could help, too, of course. I support that idea, although I can imagine not many authors will actually make use of it.

A good idea that has been discussed a while ago. The coders are working as fast as they can to get the new site coding up for all sites, so if it is not site breaking that is where they are going to focus their attention.

Once the new coding is in place and the wrinkles ironed out, they will start looking at the minor irritating issues and get them resolved. Why fix it now, when it may already be fixed with the new coding.
