So I guess I got over-zealous & decided to try the 13.6 Beta. After the update from 13.5. loaded the program & there was nothing in the Mods tab. Checked the mods folder & sure enuf, it's empty. Might want to fix that before next release.

All my mods are still there. Sure sounds like your mods folder is in the Vortex install tree. Did you see the sticky about what not to do?

I hadn't gone on these forums previous to now. My mod tab is gone as well. Is there a way to get it back? They're still installed in the game as far as I can tell. I had to reinstall everything once before because I had reinstalled Windows. I don't what to have to do that again.

@Ahearn1: Hmm, the deployed files are still there because they are hard links and those don't disappear/become invalid when the "original" disappears. However this contains only the mods that were enabled and only the "winning" file in a file conflict.

You could look at the vortex.deployment.json file, it contains the name of each file vortex installed (relPath) and the mod to which it belonged (source). You could use that to recreate the mod directories by copying the files over but that requires either a ton of manual work or some programming.

@PhxAs5as5in: hrmm, if your mods were not in the vortex directory then there is no reason they should be deleted, the installer doesn't delete anything apart from the installation directory.

You'd also be the first case this happens.

This is not me trying to brush you off, I just wouldn't even know where to start investigating this, the installer doesn't have code to delete files outside its target directory and it doesn't know about mod directories configured inside Vortex - and when there is no code then there can't be a bug.

Are you certain you're looking at the right mod directory? Are you certain the mods were deleted during the install?

Which installer did you use when you initially installed Vortex? (one-click or custom?) Are you using shared mode or per-user (settings->vortex)? Is it possible you toggled that before?

Do you use any custom junction points/symbolic links apart from those generated by tools?
