vladdracule001
Hi, Just got on nexus, only been playing Skyrim for a about a month. Love TES game series. I want to better play a mage, how ever i have yet to find any mods that truely allow me to play a mage that is balanced with the other class skill sets. any one able to help me select the best mods that won't take the challenge out of the game, but give just as much versatility as say a fighter or ranger type character in combat. At low levels and even at medium levels I still have to use meele or ranged weapons more then I would like.

thompsonar
I've been using "balanced magic" for about a week. I like it but I'm worried that I'm getting too overpowered (at level 22 now). Don't get me wrong I still get killed from one arrow shot all the time, but I can kill most things with two (maybe three) dual cast blasts of whatever. I even upped the difficulty to master. I'm going to push on through and see what happens when I get to a higher level and face harder enemies. I would say at this point I'm mostly pleased with the mod and I would recommend you check it out and see what you think. Side note - I've never drawn a weapon (well except staffs) or used armor while using this mod. edit: I also have midas magic but have only used a couple novice spells Edited April 19, 2012 by thompsonar

Axxaw
I personally go minimalist since I think magic is more or less strong enough for the vanilla game. I use Mighty Magic, but I only use the module that switches the "Fortify Magic School" effects of enchantments and potions. That gets rid of the "0 cost" spell exploit and also gives a way to boost the power of my spells (up to double damage with max enchanting and 4 slots. Which is the same as taking any of the 5/5 weapon perks). The only other thing would be nerfing impact but I'm still not totally sure what I want to do about that yet. amitchev
I wouldn't go to overboard w/ the mods mainly because it's better to have balanced amount of magic, not to say you shouldn't download any because I agree that they really should have added more on to magic. In my opinion the Midas Magic mod is quite useful and it gives you a challenge to get the spells.
