TheAtomicCafe
I'd really like to see someone come up with a mod that enables the player look function where the player's character will turn his or her head towards an NPC or creature as they walk past. I've been looking for way to do this through such means as adding a character headtracking function to the SkyrimPrefs.ini and by looking in the CK for a way to get this working to no avail....This type of mod would only better the games' total immersion. TheAtomicCafe
I came across this:ShowHeadTrackTarget (SHeadT) Show the head track target if set from look function Now if I can only find out what this Look Function is! What this does as a console command is set any persons (NPC and player alike to have no head animations) I basically states: (player name) is looking at (NPC Name)...BUT THE PLAYER ISN'T LOOKING AT ANYTHING!! MODDER RAGE!!!I don't seen any references to this anywhere. Any idea?
Tsuroshi
I came across this: ShowHeadTrackTarget (SHeadT)Show the head track target if set from look function Now if I can only find out what this Look Function is! I know this thread is from 2012, but I figured I'd post a reply anyway, since people may still be searching for this information. I was; it's how I found this thread. ShowHeadTrackTarget may not always be accurate for the Player character(it will sometimes state the Player is looking at something when 3rd person view shows the Player just looking straight ahead like normal), but it works flawlessly on NPCs as far as I can tell. I had an issue where some of my companions/followers would no longer look at the Player character when they were close by. (Possibly this problem stemmed from some tinkering with the SetScale command to adjust their heights, I'm not sure....) They would headtrack the player when engaged in conversation, but as soon as the dialogue ended the head and eyes snapped back to default position. Targeting these NPCs in console and using ShowHeadTrackTarget returned "(NPC name) isn't looking at anything"....which seems obvious and unhelpful, but it told me that the problem wasn't with headtracking. So, with the NPC still targeted in console, I tried typing "look player" and that worked. After that, the NPCs would again headtrack the player character when within proximity, like normal. This works in both Skyrim and Oblivion(I had the same problem in both games). Hope this helps anyone looking for info about the "look" and "showheadtracktarget" commands. Edited March 25, 2015 by Tsuroshi
