How do people, I am going to be doing some traveling and I have an older *gaming* laptop. I purchased it around 2009/2010'ish.I have played WOW, Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2 all of the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale games & Neverwinter Night games. Tyranny, Divinity Original Sin EE and The Adventures of Van Helsing and Grim Dawn as well as Diablo 2. I also have Borderlands 1 and Oblivion on here.

Anyway, I have installed Skyrim SE and it installed fine and I verified the game files. The game started and detected my graphics and set it to Low. But as soon as I hit Play, the screen goes black and then I start to hear the music for about 2 or 3 seconds then the game shuts down.

Laptop stats are below. I have zero mods, it's a brand new fresh install as I don't think I have ever installed SSE on here or even the original Skyrim, I've always just played it on my desktop.

It's a Sager

15.6" x 1366x768 (resolution)

Duo Core Intel 2.5Ghz

ATI Radeon 4650M (DXDIAG says I have 2297MB total memory and 505MB VRAM.

4GB Total memory for the laptop itself

Seagate 500GB 7200RPM

VR,

try optimizing your install by means of lowering all the textures to performace, search up sse fixes and apply that patch should lower the stress on your computer. install bethini, and lower your draw distance and detail settings to half that it is set at, disable shadows and all effects.

I am certain that you can play the game, it just takes patience ironing out the flaws scattered in your initial install. good luck.

Copy that! thanks brother, as soon as I am finished with this American Lit test I'll be doing just that.

Luck and loot to you.
