If Skyrim is full Steam...

So... I shouldn't get Skyrim? The main reason I play offline stuff is when I can't get online. Why would I play something that I expect to be offline but actually needs online to play offline? WTF?

You buy the game, install it through Steam, Steam updates your game to the latest version, then you tell Steam to play Offline and you never have to deal with Steam again unless you wish to update your game, use the Steam Workshop or purchase the DLC's when they become available. I play Offline all of the time and never have to worry about Steam except for when I recently purchased their Mount and Blade bargain pack. Steam seized the opportunity to update my game for me.

Skyrim provides a whole 'nother world to explore. As for game play I liked Oblivion much better, but Skyrim is visually much more impressive. Plus there are places to go that you haven't already been to for the thousandth time since Oblivion's been on the market. Skyrim is a feast for the eyes. And all of your friends in the Dark Brotherhood are still doing a land office business in the holds.

Speaking of visuals are you sure that your machine can run Skyrim. The last we spoke you mentioned that you were have a certain amount of trouble running Oblivion and Skyrim is Oblivion's bigger, meaner brother. If you think that you can run it then I would say that it's definitely worth the Septims. And being Offline should cause you no concern. I prefer the disk copy myself, but aside from the physical disk there is no difference between the disk and the Steam download version. The disk will save you quite a bit of installation time, however.
