SKSE works great but issue with loader

When I use the SKSE64_loader the game loads up but it says SKSE is not running.

 

If I load Steam up, and then use the SKSE64_loader it works fine.

 

For some reason if Steam is not running the SKSE64_loader doesn't load SKSE64.

Yes, Steam must be running first or SKSE64 won't be able to attach itself to the game correctly.

 

When you run SKSE64_loader it performs a few checks and then starts the game. The game itself checks to see if Steam is running and if it isn't the game starts Steam and then Steam restarts the game. If Steam isn't running from the beginning that interaction between Steam and the game interferes with the SKSE64_loader being able to get all of the SKSE64 features hooked into the game correctly. (Although if SKSE64 doesn't get connected properly at least Steam is now running and if you quit and try again it will work correctly.)

 

 

Has it even been updated to the latest Creation club update?

Yes, version 2.0.7 is available and has been for a few days already. But many mods that provide their own DLLs still haven't been.
