I want to isntall Marts mutant mod, and the Energy weapons improvment mod. Ive downloaded eveything, and i understand extracting them to the data folder. M48A5 Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Go to the download page for each of you mods and read the requirements and installation instructions. If you do not understand the instructions, the requirements and load order set up, you need to do more research before you start to add mods to your game. If you cannot follow the instructions the authors have provided, you are not ready to start modding your game. If you try do install the mods without doing any research and getting the required additional files necessary, you will not be able to start the game. caramellcube Posted April 23, 2012 Share Posted April 23, 2012 What are the instructions on the readme?If it's archive invalidation invalidated you're trying to install, there should be a manual version and a program version, the program version is much easier to install, you just run the program and that's it.If, after you've installed it, you play Fallout 3 and notice that objects keep rapidly changing textures, like if a door is suddenly painted like a nuka-cola machine, then made of wood, then metal, then a few other things, all in the space of a second, that probably means archive invalidation invalidated isn't working for some reason. Start FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager)4. If you haven't done Archive Invalidation before you should click on Toggle Invalidation, otherwise leave it alone.5. Activate EVE.esm and EWE Energy Weapons Enhanced.esm by clicking on the check boxes next to them. Make sure EVE.esm is higher in the list than EWE.esm!6. If you would like Supermutants to be able to use energy weapons then you should also activate EWE Supermutant Energy Weapons.esp.7. If you have any other mods that may affect energy weapons in any way, you should also activate EWE Load Order Fix.esp and put it after your other mods (at the bottom of your load order).8. If you already have the original EVE Energy Visuals Enhanced mod installed you should deactivate it by unchecking EVE.esp. You should be using the EVE.esm and EWE Energy Weapons Enhanced master files instead. Marts mutant mod:Make sure you have installed ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!1) Unzip the mod to your Fallout 3/Data directory.2) Use FOMM to select the following files to load (you *MUST* select both): [+] Mart's Mutant Mod.esm...... caramellcube Posted April 23, 2012 Share Posted April 23, 2012 What point does the game crash at? is it after you load a savegame or before the fullscreen main menu, or at some other point?What have you installed so far and how did you do it?What operating system do you have?It's a lot easier to diagnose a problem with enough information. Grovsie28 Posted April 23, 2012 Author Share Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) -Crashes just after seeing the fullscreen menu, well you don't see the font.-Only the EWE energy weapons mod, and Mart Mutant Mod. I unzipped the contents of what i download straight to the data file with winrar. Also activated archive installer. Don't get what to do them really, and im sure this is my problem. The EWE has poatches, how/what do you do with them? -ive got Windows 7 64bit, and yes ive installed it somewhere else other than program files, and the game doesn't crash without trying mods. Also patched properly to 1.7 i think last time it botched, hence why it detected my video card wrong. I assume you shouldn't just unzip the files straight to data folder? Should i unzip them somewhere then copy and paste individual files, or a whole folder? Also what do you do with the EWE mod as it has 2 patches? how does that work?
