Would it be hard to create a usable swing set?

a great idea.

some do exist -

with the 'jungle-jim settlement enclosure".

that also includes climbable ladders, monkey-bars/crawl-spaces, conduit/ducting,

and, a swing.

I prefer using the "monkeybar" for a "America Ninja Warrior" style settlement/Gladiators style entrance

(which forces entry via the funnel-point).

the swing comes in 'tire-hoop swing", or wooden swing etc.

there is also a 'porch-hammock swing" which counts as a bed,

which might also at some point be made "swingable".

there's also those "roof-mounted 60s ish chairs", which could be made swingable.

The swing is a variant of elevator,

with a parabolic arc instead of a linear one,

and a seat. the seat can be a separate node, which then 'nutates'/'rotates' as a keyed animation activator.

while seated, you can 'button mash' the alt-melee attack to 'swing faster'.

yes, it is possible in survival to insta-defeated, by 'going over the top" and looping the swing.

If combat happens, then the swing node switches off...

if you place your swing near the edge of a high-cliff etc, this can cause the NPC to 'fall to their demise'.

the tire swing is a 'moveable activator", like an elevator node

that can move about the fixed point,

so, while seated, you can 'walk-around' and it will play the swing motion.

WASD around, it's awesome.

it is tricky, as adding animations to FO4 can be tricky to function stably.

The modded "rocket-assisted swing"

and "rocket-assisted carousel"

those didn't work so well...

the idea was that, you need to use 3 or 4 fusion cores (which set the percentage of the timer for the 'fuel meter")

you then 'turbo-boost' and can use the swing.

the carousel-turntable could then, above a certain speed, 'attach-node' to a "cart/monorail"...

so, you spin-up, and then can monorail/rollercoaster around.

or, in the case of Buckin Bronco's on a Carousel, it 'splits off" and you can continue riding the Buckin bronco (BlahblahDEEblahblah's Buckin Bronco better rideable).

The problem apart from stability issues, was detaching nodes sending players careening to ceiling-height.

it was not fixable, so, that mod was 'retired' from beta/unlisted status...

I look forward to seeing other mods that explore this concept further also.

it just adds a lot to raider settlements
