"Pleased to meet ya, Ah'm sure, lasses. Now, these will help with the tensions, and the lacks of energies from the battle we jus won. Ah'm sorry for havin tae use number 4, but other than the trees, there was no damage. Tha' Reminds me!" Byron breaks off, rummaging in a small satchel on his belt, and pulls out a heavily folded piece of parchment. He starts brewing this, and mixing that, pounding herbs, until he came up with a liquid that glowed gold. "Git yerself awai from tha trees, lasses." He walks over to the burnt area of ground, and shoos everyone away. "An odd pair gave me this, and demonstrated so Ah knows it tah work." He pours the gold glowing liquid on the ground and trees. At once the burnt grass and trees heal themselves, and become vibrant and healthy again. The ground regains it's lush, spongey moss and grass, and he turned back with a smile. "A dryad and a druid gave me that. Ne'er used it afore now." He hands everyone a glass of a hot red liquid. He takes his own and downs it in one. "Drink up. It'll help!" Edited by BaldurAnthology

Nawen got up without Byron's help and looked around the camp. The explosion did some damage to the area, more specifically the trees which luckily the dwarf fixed after the dryad did... whatever she did. The drow also watched what Rhaine did with the great interest. She never saw a Doomguide at work before.

"Nawen Mithrilaxe. Pleased to meet you." She said to the two girls and Byron. The ranger placed the glass that the grey dwarf gave on the ground carefully. "Thanks but I think I'll pass." The drow wondered how could she not notice the bandits earlier. Nawen was a fine scout and her sincere enjoyment and interest in what she did made her even better.

"Suit yerself, lass. Nawen was it? As yeh already know, Ah'm Byron Thunderbeard, Child of Korgan Bloodaxe. At yer service." At this, the dwarf makes a bow. "And ye need not worry about wee little me. Ah'll be out of your hair in the morning if tha' is what ye be wishin." Byron packs up his alchemy apparatus, and only then seems to notice the cut on his arm. He pulls out a salve from his pack and smears it on the cut to stop the bleeding. He then pulls out a bedroll and some meat from his pack, and starts making a stew. He pulls out a second cooking apparatus and gathers herbs from the underbrush, making a vegetable soup for any vegetarians.

"A pleasure, fey ones," Rhaine replied to Ianthe and Hazel. Her curiosity was thoroughly piqued by these two; nymphs rarely deigned to leave their homes, dryads even less so. The very fact that Hazel was able to travel so far from her tree indicated advanced druidic power.

"I am Rhaine Alcinea, Doomguide and Chosen of Kelemvor. We were on our way to investigate some undead creatures we believe originated in the Underdark - it is our suspicion that an entrance to the Upperdark is somewhere in the nearby Sword Mountains. We just stopped to make camp when you and Byron arrived."

Rhaine swirled the glass full of scarlet liquid carefully, looking back and forth between it and the Duergar, who appeared to be making some sort of stew over their fire, "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is this you have given us?"

Glancing to Nawen, she stated, "If Byron is making our dinner, perhaps your kill would suffice to spread the meal farther."

"Yes. Nawen." The drow replied to Byron as she watched him making the dinner. "True. It's not like we could eat this much meat." She replied to Rhaine and walked up to her pack and pulled a pan from it. It was odd how something so big could fit in a pack which wasn't that big.

Nawen then placed the pan with the meat in it over the fire. "This should be good." She thought and glanced at Byron again. They could sure use some help if the undead threat is real...

"Tha's a drink Ah learned tae make a while back, it's just an herbal drink, combined with a wee bittie o' alchemical magics. Naethin too serious, jus for healin muscles and soothin tensions. I'll nae be poisonin yeh, it wouldnae make any sense!" Byron notices the Drow, Nawen was it? glance quizzically at his bag, and smiled. "The secret is how ye pack, and the fact that It's a minor bag of holding. Nae infinite, but holds a lot. For what it don't hold, or I need quick access to, Ah stores them in pouches on mah belt and on the sides of the pack." Byron accepts the meat, and slices it into pieces with a small knife on his belt. He adds the meat to the stew, and adds some potatoes from one of the pouches into both stews. "That'll naed some time to be cookin, so while we wait, why dinnae yeh tell me what yer doin oot in the middle of naewhere? Ah have been travellin a lot in this area, maybe Ah have seen somethin useful?" Edited by BaldurAnthology

Hazel gingerly stepped to Byron and gave a slight bow, "Your help to the trees was much appreciated, and I'm sure you did not mean to cause them harm. They thank you for healing them, and understand you did not mean to cause harm." She then sat a reasonable distance from the fire and watched him stir the food, fascinated by the wooden spoon he was using. She pointed at it, "I quite like that. How much is something like that worth? What is it?"

Ianthe tilted her head to the side and said, "I think it's a spoon, Hazel."

"Oh. Then I like spoons." She watched Nawen and Byron stir at the stews, entranced by the simple spoon.

Rhaine drained the glass in one gulp. The herbs were bitter, but had a slightly sweet aftertaste. Almost instantly, she felt her muscles relax, even her saddle-sore legs.

"Like I said," she remarked to Byron, "we're looking for an entrance to the Underdark. Do you know of one nearby?"

Suddenly, the bandit Norgold had knocked out groaned. Rhaine clenched her fist, and a holding spell wrapped green tendrils around him, rendering him immobile.

"Looks like your prisoner is awake," she said, nodding to Norgold and Byron, "Question him if you like. He's not going anywhere, so long as I have him in my grip."

It was true. As long as her fist remained clenched, her spell would hold. It was a simple enchantment that had little drain on her power.

Byron looked at Rhaine like she was insane. "Why in blazes would ya be wantin tae go there?" He rummaged in his pack, and pulled out a small bottle filled with what looked like water, which was labelled Truth Potion. He walked over to the bandit and said "Noo yae are gonna talk, and yeh are gonna tell the truth. Whether ye wants tae or not." At this, He forced a small amount into the bandit's mouth. The bandit's eyes went slightly out of focus. "Who Sent You?" Byron demanded. The bandit mumbled, "Necromancer." Byron went pale, and demands "Why did he send you?" The bandit mumbled "To Kill you. All of you. You must not reach the underdark. And failure..... means...." The bandit collapses onto the ground, dead. Edited by BaldurAnthology

Ianthe looked at the mug in her hands and took a cautious sip, after seeing Rhaine finish her own mug off. It wasn't a caution borne of distrust, but rather, she had to be sure the dwarf knew what he was doing. Rhaine had seemed to relax a bit after drinking hers, and Ianthe had been walking all day. The only thing she couldn't get past was the ugly color... She closed her eyes and tipped the glass back. It didn't taste so bad, and there was a sweet taste that chased all the bitterness away. Immediately, she felt rested and the knots in her shoulders disappeared.

Hazel watched the spoon intently, leaning forward slightly. A bit of the potion in her mug spilled out, and she looked down at it, "Oh, I'd forgotten." She looked back to Byron's spoon, and sipped at her potion, entranced. The potion was a good substitute for sunlight and water, as it made her feel energized, and she liked the bitterness. She decided she liked the dwarf.

Rhaine called Byron over. The two forest dwellers averted their eyes as the interrogation was conducted.
