Rhaine's brow furrowed at Caladus, "Must you be unique? Must you be better? Do you want to be told that you are needed?" She paused for a moment before continuing, "One's worth goes beyond what he or she can accomplish by sword or spell. One's self-esteem should not depend on accolades from others."

The Doomguide began to walk away, then turned back and added, "But since you seem to need that, fine. You are valuable as an individual, but you are more so as a member of this group. Without you, we would be less."

She smirked, "Is that what you needed to hear? Now, if you want to find out what happened to your clothes, I suggest you follow me."

Caladus walked after Rhaine, and wondered where she would take him.

Minsc and Aerie finished making inquiries, and decided to wait in the shade. Minsc sees a bench with a lady on it petting a hamster, and smiles. He walks over towards her, his footsteps heavy, and asks,

"Does the lady mind if Minsc and Aerie share this bench? Oh! Minsc sees you holding one of Boo's baby Miniature Giant Space Hamsters! Are you the one the pretty elf lady with Caladus was buying it for?"

Rhaine led Caladus back to Etienne's Finery. There, the proprietor was pacing across the floor of his shop, muttering to himself.

"...knew I made them...I knew it! I left them right there...but they're gone...locked the shop, I know. It was locked this morning...what in the Hells...? Oh!"

Etienne looked up on hearing the Doomguide approach, "Ah, I see you're back for your purchase. Don't mind me, I just managed to misplace TWO OUTFITS I HAD RESERVED!" He slammed his hand on his counter, then bent to pick up something behind it. Sighing, he produced Caladus's outfit, "Well, here you are, milady. No matter what happens, Etienne always keeps his promises."

Rhaine, who had kept a rogue stone in her pouch to pay for the outfit, tossed the gem to the tailor and then handed the ensemble to the drow, "Ta-da."

Etienne grinned, "Seems two can play your game, goodsir. She came to me not long after you did. Here," the tailor reached to a table beside him and presented Caladus's old clothes, "I believe these are yours as well."

Nawen was sitting on a bench and watching the little hamster in her hands when two people approached her. One was a really tall man, the other one was an elven woman. "I don't mind. Please, have a seat." She said and eyed the two curiously yet cautiously. It seems that Rhaine bought the hamster from these people. "No, I already have an animal companion. This little hamster is for another friend." She assumed that the tall man sold the little animal because she could smell the wilds on him. He must be a ranger as well.

Caladus frowned.

"I believe I know the thieves of those outfits, Etienne. So as to make sure you are not out any money, I will reimburse you all the profit you lost." Taking back his clothes, he smiles at the outfit that Rhaine had picked for him.

"Is there somewhere I can try that on?" Etienne gestured towards a small door in the side wall. Caladus takes the outfit, and walks into the side room to change. He emerged wearing the outfit, marveilling at the quality of the jacket. From the pocket of his cloak he pulled the Mask that Rhaine had got him and put it on, and posed with the scepter touching the black decorative pad on his shoulder.

"How does this look?"

Minsc smiled.

"Eh? Boo says he smells nature on you. Could it be that you are a ranger too? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Minsc! This is my Miniature Giant Space Hamster! Her name is Boo!" Aerie leaned forward and gave a friendly smile,

"H-hello! I-I am Aerie! I serve as his witch. A-apparently he has to complete a Dajemma, s-successfully escorting a witch with him, then returning to Rashemen. I-I must say, this is much better than being in the Circus! A-although, I miss my Uncle Quayle." Aerie looked sad. Minsc pulled her into a comforting half hug, but continued talking to Nawen.

"Minsc, Boo and Aerie are in town investigating a Ranger who shirks his duties and abuses animals, making them do tricks so he can earn gold! Minsc is going to find him, and liberally apply butt kicking to his backside for good measure! Then I will return home, however, I still owe Caladus for helping me a long time ago. So, should he ask, I can accompany you for a short while. I know this area very well. Minsc will lead with Blade and boot! Boo will take care of the details." Boo, the hamster squeaked at Nawen,

He isn't the brightest of the bunch, but he has a good heart. I smell Nature, and Underdark in your blood. So long as you do not turn treacherous, Lady Drow, I see no reason for you to be harmed by him, or Aerie. He took a few too many blows to the head, and forgot about Nature Affinity. A ranger, or a druid, can bond mentally with animals. He believes I am a Miniature Giant Space Hamster. Why trouble him with the truth?

Rhaine smiled, "Elegant indeed. You'll have the ladies fawning all over you at this ball...drow or not." She winked.

Etienne clapped his hands, "Magnificent if I do say so myself. But you say I had thieves in my shop? How did they get in without disturbing the lock? And why would they steal clothes of all things?"

Caladus shakes his head.

"They did disturb the lock. They evidently repaired or relocked the shop behind them. Did you check the back door?" He walked around the room, testing his new footwear. He decided, so as to not gain blisters while dancing, to wear the outfit around, minus the mask for the day. Something nagged the back of his mind, and he remembered what Rhaine had said. Smiling, he turned to her and said,

"There is a reason I am more forward with my being a Drow, despite what it could cause. I should have mentioned, but when I said I was the Arch Druid, and a Noble in Trademeet, well.. I am actually Lord Caladus, Mayor of Trademeet, Lord of the Windspear Keep, and Arch Druid of the Trademeet Druidic Grove. I have no reason to hide my heritage, as a noble. One of the main reasons no one ever attacked me for being a Drow was because I acted too important, I acted like I belonged. Most Drow cannot do this, hiding themselves. I left behind Windspear, giving it to the family who originally lorded over it before I had got there, and left a friend of mine to watch Trademeet whilst I was away. I would love it if we could visit Amn, but we would need to use the Dwarven tunnels to get there in less than a month. They have magic and constructs that would get there in a week, tops."

"Yes, my Lady." Lacey then stepped into the hallway to get Ravenna's bags, feeling silly for not remembering to get them earlier. She stopped in her tracks as she almost bumped into a sopping wet Arva, who was hardly dressed, wearing only breeches. The girl blushed deeply and curtsied as the handsome, tall elf apologized repeatedly for scaring her.

"I just... thought I'd bring these bags back before I started washing. I sort of remembered a few seconds into my bath that I'm supposed to be a good host and take care of things like heavy lifting for all the lady guests... So many things to remember." He shrugged and walked into the room, pushing a cart with Ravenna's bags inside with him. "My apologies, Lady. I was simply swept into the thoughts of tonight's events. Our first practice for the ball..." Hunching over severely, he rushed out of the room and down the hallway awkwardly, as if realizing he wasn't dressed properly.

"My, that was unexpected. At least he was wearing something..." Lacey then began hanging the dresses in the closet as Ravenna had asked as the blush diffused from her cheeks, remarking on the quality of the clothing occasionally.

"Mother, is it true that the theme for the ball will be the circus?" Reona daintily gasped as a handmaid pulled the strings on her dress' bodice to their 'proper tightness', in order to give the appearance that her body had more of a feminine shape. The back of this particular dress was ruffled with layers of peacock feathers and was a brilliant cobalt color. This would be the first thing she'd wear, she believed. The thing she'd welcome the guests in. The feathers were far too delicate to drag the floor as she danced. She stepped into very high-heeled shoes that were a vibrant green, with the help of two servant girls.

Another handmaid rushed over as fast as her heels would carry her, carrying a sleek, butterfly-shaped cobalt colored mask covered in what seemed to be peacock chest feathers, with a single peacock tail feather on the outside each eye hole, flaring out to resemble long eyelashes. She placed it over Reona's face and then yanked the strings on Reona's bodice tighter and tied them into a bow.

William poofed his way into the sweet shop, "Hey, you lot need to start getting ready, you know! For gods' sake!" He waved a hand and every row of pastries duplicated itself several times, until only three or four batches of sweets became hundreds. "We got a ball to get to, ma'am!" He pulled Alphonse and Ianthe out of the shop by their forearms, his glittering purple robes twirling behind him as he dragged the couple out of the shop with surprising strength and speed.

"You're a mad genius, William!" Ianthe cheered as he let her go.

"Of course I am! If I wasn't, I would be a moron!" William shook his head and smoothed his beard, "And I'm no moron."

Alphonse looked up at the sign above them, "Etienne's Finery?"

"Yes!" William said, as if they should have known that already, "Of course I'm already dressed to the nines, so I don't need any clothing! But you two, you look like my cats meowed all over you! Alphonse still dressed as if he were a common stable boy, when he's promised to this noble nymph, who is dressed equally badly! And don't you go trying to steal my outfit, you hear me?" With that, he disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Ianthe laughed as she walked into the shop, pulling Alphonse behind her.

William reappeared next to the drow Nawen and two people he was unfamiliar with, holding a map, "No, this isn't my hotel room... Hello, however! I am William, of house Nosfera--- No, that's not right... Nerast--- Nafae--- I've forgotten... Ah well, I'm William."
