Xallistine stood straight again, with a dignified air, despite his coughing fit. He rubbed his temples and said "Well... in my experience with tomes and books, secrets can come in very solid form. I have opened books with living pages, spell knowledge, and i recently found a book that contained an item for something or other in it's front cover... But this book... something told me it was not quite right... you can see by the way the back is far thicker than the front, but hollow... And it seems that is the reason why." He said pointing to the dagger.

Rhaine approached Xallistine's desk, "That looks to be a ritual dagger of some sort. I'm assuming that's a book on the Cult's practices, yes?"

Norgold rubbed his beard uneasily, he's seen that type of dagger in his nightmares, but it wasn't the exactly the same. He remembered a book he was reading earlier, about sacrificial rituals, the book had a chapter about a specific dagger that you must use for anything that required blood. Norgold got up from the chair and walked behind it, he looked through the two smaller piles behind the chair, and there it was. The black leather book with red stains, probably blood, was sitting on top. He reached down and grabbed the book carefully. He could already feel the darkness creeping up onto him as he held the book. After setting the book down gently as he could, he sat back down and carefully flipped through the even more eerie pages, until he finally reached the chapter about the dagger. Flipping the book around and moving it to the front of the desk so that everyone can see. "This is what it's used for," He said quietly. Edited by TheBestIdiot122

Xallistine carefully took the dagger out with one hand, and stabbed it into his desk, so it could be viewed. He picked up the book. It had no title, just a blank cover, many of the pages were in draconic, so he read a few quickly. "Most certain My lady, here." He said pointing to one passage, which identified the book for sure as one of the Dragon cults. He put it on the desk, next to the dagger, and turned away to cough once more, not wishing to cough in-wind of anyone. Then he looked back at the book Norgold found... this was most certainly interesting... Edited by mythicdawnmaster

Byron observed all this quietly. All of a sudden, in his ear, he heard voices. His patron Dugmaren was one of them, as was Dumathoin and Sharidlar? "Be wary, Byron, for dawn swiftly approaches. You will return to the Afterlife within the hour. Dumathoin wishes me to let you know that he is increasing the amount of influence you have. You can move objects and the like. It will be useful, and Sharidlar has given you, temporarily, the power to heal that Ilithid, as without him , your friends will not last until next sunset, and neither will he." The voices faded. "Rhaine, wha' Ah haz tae talk to ye aboot can wait a moment, Xallistine, the gods ha' granted me the ability tae heal ye, if ye likes. I only have this ability for the next hour, then Ah return tae the Afterlife til sunset."

Xallistine looked at Byron and said "I respect and thank you for the offer but... i am afraid i cannot be healed. Nor cured, nor remedied. At least not by divine intervention, or spells. i am sorry, old friend." He said, and then turned back to the books "Interesting... very interesting, the plot thickens. Edited by mythicdawnmaster

Norgold looked at Byron one last time, "We'll see you tonight, old friend." He said, smiling. Norgold decided while the group was reading the book he grabbed, that he could continue reading from the book he was reading before everyone came in. With that, he reached over across the desk and grabbed the book he was reading. It was something about the Cult of the Dragon and how it was formed in the first place, it was quite a read. After finding his place again, he started to read.

"Aye. And take care of my hammer! Ah dinnae give it tae ye fer it tae rust!" Byron saw the library fade away, and was back in the Feasting hall. His patron Dugmaren approached. "Byron, it seems you have already started to do good! Well done! For now, until nightfall, you are free to drink and feast and do whatever you want." Caladus woke up in his room. He didn't remember falling asleep, but for some reason, he needed to talk to someone. He walked out of his room in tunic and trousers, and knocked on Nawen's door.
