At the moment I average 38ish to 60 FPS at 1080p with almost everything set to max except AA that's off lols and I am using a tweaked version of Tapiok's 1.8 HDR ENB atm, *waiting for 0.108 to get fixed up*

My old Rampage Extreme still has plenty of balls. Native on my Dell WFP2480 is 1920x1200x60, I run everything at that res.

Custom liquid setup:

ASUS Rampage Extreme

Intel QuadCore QX9650 @ 4.0Ghz (10x400)

8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24-2T

2x 7950 w/3GB Ram

I run dual loops, 320mm rad, block on the CPU and NB.

Temps for my CPU never exceed 55c and that's after a night of crunching PI. NB can push 58-59C, this is normal for my gear. The 7950's in XFire never reach 60c. Cards are each blocked and modded on their own loop.

Eats anything I throw at it, maxed out. Even a POS as buggy and inefficient as Skyrim.

i5 2500k

560gtx ti msi frozr II OC model (she runs cold, really cold)

crucial ssd 128gb. m4 series

Asus pz68-v

8gb ram

still using an old 1680x1050 screen from my previous pc.

A modest rig compared to some of the beasts around but very affordable.

Play Skyrim at ultra settings but shadows down to High, about 40 mods so far, some textures, ice, rain effects with realistic lighting, the game sits at 60 fps .

I love that SSD, so good for starting up, loading games, loading locations etc. a godsend for games like Civ v and skyrim

CPU: i7-930 @ 2.93GHz

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5

RAM: 12GB Corsair XMS3 @1600MHz

Primary Storage: Intel X-25 SSD 160GB

Secondary Storage: 1TB Raptor 10000RPM

GPU: AMD MSi HD 7970 3GB

PSU: Corsair 750TX 750W

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I was considering upgrading the CPU because it is Bloomfield which means very little overhead for overclocking, it just gets to hot. So I was looking at Ivy Bridge but then noticed that they only have Dual DDR3 Controllers which is not very good at all, especially since I have Triple Memory DDR3's installed. I would upgrading one thing but effectively downgrading something else by putting them in my machine.

Considering I cannot get Skyrim to deviate more than 5fps away from the 60fps it is locked at, going for Ivy Bride might result in a negative effect on my rig so I will wait until Intel releases Triple Channel Controllers on their next range. Looks like another year or two before it becomes worth the upgrade.

I built a new stock clocked rig. Lian Li machined alluminum case. I went with it because of the thermal properties of unpainted alluminum. Then it's shaped like the old VooDoo Cases real square an plain old school. It also used 3 120mm filtered fans. Then I went with an ASUS P8Z77-V LX because I didn't need the extra connectivity with the higher boards. It's only 3/4 of a ATX Mobo though. For the CPU I went with stock clocks in the I5 2500 along with 8Gb 1333 DDR3 as per Intel Tightly timed Gskill. . The Video card is a Evga GTX 570 2.5Gb monster . Then 2 90 Gb Sata III SSD from Kingston (sandforce) non-raid . Then a soild Apevia P/S . Lastly a 23 LG IPS panel monitor .

If I could go back I wouldn't invest in SSD, it's kind of a pain. Then I wouldn't invest in IPS either, instead get a 22 to 28 inch gloss LCD instead. That or compare the two side by side in a store. I would go with a AMD FX 4100 an XFX double d 6850 or 6950. Then spend all the hundreds of dollars I had left on video games an junk.

@GrindedStone - if you think SSD is a "pain" then you're doing it wrong. SSD as your bootdisk is awesome, disable pagefile, hibersys and it screams.

Well, mine does anyway. ;)

I'm still putting it together and just bought a 128GB SSD for my fresh OS load, but here ya go:

Intel DZ77BH-55k Motherboard (PCIe 3)

Intel i7-3770K LGA1155 3.50GHz 8MB Cache Unlocked and Unleashed

16G 1600X DDR3

Dual Gigabyte 7970 3072MB/each DDR5 Crossfire (probably overkill, but WTF...that's what tax returns are for)

Crucial 128GB SSD drive

1TB 10000 rpm Raptor is on order.

I haven't done much with cooling it, yet. I have a pretty good custom case with excellent air flow and evacuation. I'll wait to see if I need to mitigate any heat issues after I start burning it in.

I'm just now installing the SSD and will do a fresh load of Windows 7 64/bit. I haven't overclocked or tweaked anything yet since it's an old and dirty load on the current platters. I'll lean it out and grease it up once I get all my firmware updated. It runs like a striped-ass-ape right now, so I can only imagine what it will run like all freshened up and tweaked. I spent way too much, but once you start building a box, it's hard not to. I should be good for a couple of years before I do it all over again.

My backup computer:

CPU: Intel® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz

6GB RAM (upgraded, original 4GB)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 2

Graphics Card: Intel HD

Driver version: 8.15.10.2345

All right. I'll bite. But promise not to laugh, OK?

Ati radeon hd 5800 series. stock

terabyte hdd. stock

amd phenom ii x6 1055t 2.8 ghz. stock

1680x1050 22" moniter

4 gb ram ddr3 1333 mhz stock

I play skyrim on high settings. no texture mods. I have enough time to read every loading screen. My computer is loud because i think it's hot. I tried over clocking my cpu but it crashed after awhile. I'm to scared to upgrade anything because I'm too poor to afford a replacement computer if I break it or if it over heats. I'm unsure of what to upgrade anyway. probably everything, right.
