I see I forgot a "NOT" in one of my posts 'bout Exodus,

 

It ssould say: "Well I'm NOT saying he did something wrong.., for all WE know he ectually does know ehhh..., her (?)

and that would sill be inline with competition rules."

 

Sounds way different with the not.., doesn't it?

 

 

but enough 'bout that...

 

How's stuff standing with the swords and stuff??

these shocking revelations are shocking. now, bow before the completely original power of PAINWEAVER!!!!

 

 

btw, the painweaver cutlass is done, looks pretty hot, but i'm not quite ready for release....gotta finish the dungeon in which you scrubs will find it, and that may still take a while. If it ends up taking too long, i'll just plop it on a creature outside the IC or something.

well, there was the original Painweaver, which was my entry into the sword contest, modeled by Jaysus. (see my little cliky at the bottom)

 

This is the Painweaver Cutlass, think of it as Painweaver V2.0

 

The blade is larger, longer and slightly more painful looking, and the hilt is smaller. Designed modeled and textured from start to finish by myself. Not too shabby for a first effort, no?

 

Painweaver V1.0 is a short sword, this one is cutlass size, and infact uses the havok collision boxes from the vanilla cutlass model.

 

coming soon to a theatre near you.

ya he did a good job as far as i can see on the pic :) gratz to the accomplishment... the blade texture id change tho... maybe make a custom one with the blood trails more in line with the shape but overall nice :thumbsupsmiley:

 

cant see it in the screens but did you also use a distinquished alpha channel on the normal maps? (metal lighter and leather darker - it defines reflection)

also id say split the blade from the hilt and guard and give it a highlight shader(nifskope - texture properties) so it looks like shiny metal...

thanks for the good reviews fellas.

 

I did create an alpha channel, but not separate ones for the different materials. It does still catch and reflect light nicely.

 

my original concept was for a goblin blade of sorts, so it's rusty and beat up looking by design (think milleniium falcon, total hunk of junk, but badass nonetheless)

 

im not 100% on the texture myself, but I think im calling it done. I am taking notes for my next one tho, hehehe.

Offtopic (sorta): Any chance of anyone making Zack's sword from CC? Not important enough to request, but I just finished the game. Damn that's depressing... I lasted 30ish minutes in the final fight!
